Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

Please limit your completion posts to one book each.

MountainKat | 31864 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 15, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

Jessica Lowe (jeslowe115) | 27 comments I'm Jessica. I read about 1-2 books a week. my favorites are sports romance and psychological thrillers. I do dabble in dark romance (got to watch the triggers though), true crime and sports non fiction.

do we have a team name we want to be known by?

anyone want to be team captain? I can if no one else wants it.

I'm in Arkansas so I'm in the central time zone.

Christy (christy_t) | 582 comments I'm Christy. I'm in Georgetown, TX (outside Austin), with my 2 small dogs, so I'm also in Central Time.

As for reading, I can read anywhere from 1-5 books in a week, but I am also doing 3 challenges right now, so unless they overlap, that likely means no more than 2 a week for this challenge. I read mostly MF contemporary, and have been reading a lot of sports romance, small town romances, and westerns. As long as there is a main tag of romance, I'll generally dabble in it from time to time, lol.

Christy (christy_t) | 582 comments I asked AI and here are a couple of team name suggestions:
Plot Twist Pacers
Smudge & Run Squad
Waterproof Word Warriors

Do you have a team name preference? So far it looks like we have votes for Spookily Bookish Babes and Plot Twist Pacers.

Wait - I just saw your friend request. You're in Citrus Heights? I grew up in Elk Grove, though it's been 20 years since I left California.

Christy (christy_t) | 582 comments We have our first task!

Task 1 - 0. Read a book celebrating October 1st.

This round begins on October 1st. October 1st has much historical significance. In 1890, Yosemite National Part was established. In 1903, the first game of the modern World Series was played. In 1908, the Ford Model T went on sale. And my personal favorite, in 1971 Walt Disney World, ‘The Most Magical Place on Earth’, opened. But I had to narrow the choices down so… In honor of the first game of the World series being played in 1903, read a book that is MPG Sports. This can be a specific sport such as ‘hockey’ or ‘baseball’, or the generic ‘sports’, but either MUST be MPG. OR In honor of the Walt Disney World opening in 1971, read a book that is MPG Magic or MPG Fantasy. Teams decide between the two options.

I vote the sports option.

I can't captain this round. As for the group name, I prefer Plot Twist Pacers.

message 29: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Lowe (jeslowe115) | 27 comments I posted that I will be captain. I hope I don't crash this challenge.

Anastacia, do you have any suggestions for a group name, or which one do you like from what has been named?

Anastacia | 108 comments Just to confirm, for this task, we need to read a book where the MPG is sports?

message 33: by Christy (new)

Christy (christy_t) | 582 comments Anastacia wrote: "Just to confirm, for this task, we need to read a book where the MPG is sports?"

Either MPG sports or tagged with the name of the sport, like hockey or baseball.

Also, if you could include the book's title in your posts that would be helpful for me. I don't care that you link it like you did, but just typing in the title would make things easier for me when I'm checking books. Thanks!

MountainKat | 31864 comments I am not waiting for corrections yet, but may do so later in the challenge. 😊

Here is your next task!

Task 2 - 9. Each player reads a book in the same series, teams decide. No pass for this task.

As a team, select a series listed on GR and everyone reads a book in that series. (Does not have to be a numbered series.) Please include the selected series in your completion posts. Teammates can read the same or different books for this task. No pass for this task.

Jessica Lowe (jeslowe115) | 27 comments Anyone have any suggestions? Series I am currently reading are Boys of Tommen by Chloe Walsh, Pittsburg Titans by Saywer Bennett and Devils Night by Penelope Douglas.

I also have a bunch of J Kenner books from different series that she has wrote on my TBR list.

I am open to suggestions. My only thing, it either has to be on Libby or free on Amazon. I don't have KU.

message 49: by Christy (new)

Christy (christy_t) | 582 comments I'm also reading the Pittsburgh Titans series, with Van next up.

Here are some others I'm in the process of:
Four Corners Ranch, Maisey Yates - Library
On Dublin Street, Samantha Young - Library
Fast Track, Erin McCarthy - Library
Want You, Lorelei James - Library
Gods of the Game, Ana Huang - KU
The Renegades, Rebecca Yarros - KU
Pucking Wrong, C.R. Jane - KU
Ballers and Babes, Lauren Blakely - KU
Rose Hill, Elise Silver - KU
Windy City, Liz Tomforde - KU
Dirty Air, Laurn Asher - KU

There is often a 30-day free trial available from KU if we are interested in one of those books.

message 50: by Christy (last edited 23 hours, 50 min ago) (new)

Christy (christy_t) | 582 comments Also, J Kenner lives locally to me and is part of my in-person book club, lol

Happy to hunt something from her down as well.
