Hello and welcome to Team Müllerthal Trail!
If you enjoy nature, then it is definitely a place to visit should you ever find yourself in Luxembourg ;-)

But let's move on to why we're here: Wheel-a-thon!
From the look of things, I think you may all have played Wheels before? So I think this challenge doesn't require a lot of explanation. But if you are uncertain on how it is played, or it has been a while since you've participated in it, you know the drill - read the rules! And if you're unsure, please do take the time to read them carefully a second time ;-) We all tend to fly over them the first time around, so sometimes a second look might be a good idea.
If afterwards you still have questions, Louise and I are here to help! :-)
When you come introduce yourself to the team (you don't have to go into detail if you don't wish to, no pressure whatsoever), please also post a link to your challenge shelf, thanks!
As you may have noticed, there will be several mini challenges - some will run the length of the challenge, others... ;-)
Feel free to have a little browse so you can start piling up books for the challenge in case you are a planner.
The word we have to spell out during the first round is: DJIBOUTI
Happy book hunting! (Who else is sliiiightly scared that their TBR will increase again instead of the opposite...?)
And most of all, happy reading! :-)

Hello! So we are doing all in the thread and not a SS for team members, correct? I mainly join SS based Team challenges, so it's been awhile since I posted stuff and just had it assigned without reading for tasks specifically. Do you want books updated in a post as we are done, or once a week, or does it matter on what's easier? For heavier readers wasn't sure as it can get unruly with tons of individual posts so I was thinking together weekly or every few days?
I'm Erin and from central FL and have always enjoyed NRBC team challenges. I generally play Team Towers but have also done a few Wheels and it's all been fun. I read a variety of genres, but since it's October I will be gravitating toward Spooky stuff - books, movies, tv shows, cheesey halloween music, friend coming over for a horror movie day and tea party - that kind of thing :) I tend to be pretty active on GR and chatty. I have a 24 year old son and three house cats, and my parents and brother live together across the street from me. Look forward to playing with you all.
Heya Erin :-)
We will set up a simple tracking sheet, mainly for keeping an eye on who is reading for what, but it will be pretty basic as it is only a planning sheet.
I know most people are used to having planning sheets, some very extravagant ones as well, but I've always found that a lot of the communication and chatter gets lost. I guess everyone's experiences differ hehe.
Completion posts for each and every book you finish will be needed though. Since both Louise and I are online fairly regularly (I am online almost constantly during the day as I just leave the site open while I'm at work), so whenever a book is finished, you can post. It will make things easier for everyone all around, especially when it comes to picking up specific books to finish up a spell-out or something along those lines.
We'll explain in more detail once everyone is here anyway :-)

Yeah, it's been awhile since I played with completion posts mixing with a lot of discussion, I'd think all mixing would be easier to miss discussion posts but I'm sure I'll adjust.
I'm making a side template to make it easier for me to copy and paste here (I'm lazy so like my personal templates!) so I can have that ready to put in threads once the games start with each finished book and how it works.
Hi everyone! My name is Elen (she/her/hers), and I'm from Estonia.
I have played Wheel for so many years that I lost count. At this note, I can't wait to start reading with you all and have a good reading time.
I don't have any reading plans at the moment. But, I read mostly thriller/mystery/crime, a little bit of fantasy, and sci-fi.

Hello everyone!I'm Caipi from Germany. This is my first time playing Wheels, but since I do a lot of challenges, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it quickly.
I mainly read MM romance novels, and I'm really sorry, but I don't like books that are more than 400 pages long. 🙈 I hope my 3 books per round won't be a disadvantage for the team. 🤞🏻🫠
My shelf: challenge-wheels
Hello all 👋👋Im Janine from England and have played before so know the gist .
Im like Caipi, read MM only and very rarely do i go over 400 pgs , dont often go over 300 ..I have a lot of challenges on and Turf Wars its best to go for shorter ones so we'll have to see how they work together .
Im usually good for finding all those letters that no one likes though 😄😄
Ive had a look at the mini challenge and changed pages really quick 😳..theres loads of them

Unfortunately this month's BOM is not for me, but I did vote for the two up for November in the polls and am crossing fingers

I'm still hesitant on that one as well.. And I may not read it either, truth be told.
Fingers crossed that the November BOMs are more up our alley!

They won't be, don't worry!! :-)
You may not read longer books - Audrey and I at the very least can cover some of those since she likes to read chunkster fantasy novels hehe - but there are plenty of other tasks that need to be filled, so your books will work perfectly well for those! :-)
We'll get Janine to read a longer one again as well, just like in TT ;-) Right, Janine?

Ill try and squeeze 1/2 in ..just for the team 😁
I saw Mullerthal and thought that must be Eldarwen's team 😄 Glad to have you back at the helm :-) !Hi everyone ! My name is Audrey, I'm originally from Belgium (Flanders) but live in France, in the Loire Valley near my sister; I'm slowly working my way towards my lifelong dream of working for one of the many pretty castles around here (and using my history degree !).
I usually love reading historical fiction/fantasy, fairytale retellings and gothic fiction however I plan to read spooky books during the month of October :)
My shelf: NBRC-Wheels-10-Mullerthal
Checked the spreadsheet, lots of interesting mini challenges :) Looking forward to play with you all !(note: for some reason I can't turn on the notifications for this thread, it keeps unticking the box. Will try again tomorrow)

And mine does ....thats strange as other group/ threads are ok 🤔🤔
Hi All, there are some new and familiar faces here. This is going to be a fun challenge.I will pretty much read anything but tend to steer away from horror and space opera but will take 1 for the team if needed.
Loving the mini challenges and I'm sure they will throw more at us as the challenge progresses.
Not sure about the BOM, but it's points so I will probably read it.
Now in that limbo land where I need to finish books off for TT and not start anything for Wheels until it starts.

Book of the Month
As is often the case with NBRC team challenges, BOMs give a few extra points if you participate in the discussion and/or write a set of discussion questions.
The second book of the month for October is the first one that is going to count for Wheels. As of 16th October, the group is going to read Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi.
If you feel like joining, here is the link to the Discussion Thread.
I've changed my mind since chatting about it with Erin a few posts above and ended up ordering myself a copy of the book last night ;-) I've already volunteered for DQs as well.

Hi everyone! Sorry, I'm a bit late to the group: I'd missed the announcement that teams were up! Notifications aren't working properly for some reason and coming in very late... 🙄 I'll do my best to check manually now that I've noticed this.
I'm Beatrice from Italy. I usually read a mix of genres, but definitely going to try to squeeze in some scary/gothic vibes for October. Really looking forward to playing with you all! 😄
Here's my shelf: wheels-2025
Ok, so several of you have already mentioned wanting to get to a few spooky reads in October.
I'm curious... what kind of spooky reads do you guys read? Anything in particular you'd like to recommend to the rest of us maybe?

Hello everyone!I'm Lara (she/her) and I'm also from Germany. I'm a student. This actually is my first team challenge and I'll try my best but I'm a bit nervous.
I read a lot, but had a reading slump during the summer (exam season), but since the beginning of October and knowing about this Challenge I got some Motivation back.
I read mainly Fantasy, but a lot of other genre's as well and for October my goal is to read more Horror, because I don't gravitate towards it, but usually enjoy it.

Aw, they're fun, no reason to be nervous. We promise we're friendly! We swear! :D Welcome to the team AND team challenges in general, they can be addicting

I like spooky and darker themed all year really but of course when October challenges come around it reminds me even more so of the mood.
I always overplan and never read all my plans, but some horror I was eyeing this month:
....etc, etc, there are a few more :)

I've been eying this Witchcraft for Wayward Girls for a while and already loaded it onto my kindle as the next book to read. I hope it's going to be good.
I don't think I've seen the other ones before, but will probably check them out now

I've heard some mixed things but I've liked most of Grady Hendrix stuff. My friend got my the hardcover as a birthday present this year :)

I just looked up what books by him I read before and remembered not only did I read The Final Girl Support Group (and kind of hated it), but also We Sold Our Souls (which I liked a lot more. I was just kind of ambivalent because I couldn't really relate as I don't have a passion for music).
I liked his older stuff better so far - My Best Friend's Exorcism and The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. I had trouble getting into We Sold Our Souls audio but read it. I liked The Final Girl Support Group well enough. I also liked Horrorstör in book form (but not audio when I re-read that way). I thought How to Sell a Haunted House was just okay
