Mansi | 59 comments A masterful novel by the great Nobel Prize winner author Gabriel García Márquez that reconstructs the events leading to the murder of Santiago that happened 27 years ago. Blending journalism and fiction the author explores themes of honour, fate and the guilt of a community that allows the crime to happen.
(Admin I thought you were busy and we are 5 days already into October so I made this post)

Austin George | 53 comments I have started the book. Read a few pages. I will be a bit slow to finish the book due to work and class assignments.

So far the book is good. I was worried whether I would like a magical realism book, as I didn't really enjoy Salman Rushdie's books. He also dabbles in magical realism.

exactly even I nominated and voted for White Nights which was winning but as the voting date increased by 1-2 days ,it failed and this one won.

Mansi | 59 comments Still I found the premise good so got the book, also wanted a short book this time . @Austin it's not a fantasy book .It's like a flashback book as we say in our Hindi films .

Cpt. Disco (captaindisco) | 25 comments Listened to audiobook of this title while at work. It's well written but I can't say I had fun with it. There's some nice trivia about the behind the scenes of this though!

I already read White Nights. It was good, but I liked The Brothers Karamazov even more.

I am not sure, Mansi. Goodreads has labelled this book as a magical realism book.
