I have the ebook (thanks for the telling me it was free whoever did) but haven't started it yet. Still have to slog through my IRL book club book since I only want to read one at a time on my kindle.
I’ve started to get a taste, I plan to carry on, but have another book going right now! I picked up the kindle when you told us about it, here’s my cover:
, yup, same!I’m looking forward to the setting as well, and found myself pulled in right away by (view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I certainly agree about Claude, though I suspect he will be quite prominent. I imagine his refusal to promise not to touch the key will be cropping up later.
All very intriguing so far.
My progress is slow as it has been a busy week.
So far this book has echoes of Bonjour tristesse which I last read at least 30 years ago & The Greengage Summer By echoes I mean inspired by not a carbon copy.
Bonjour tristesse first published 1954
Thalia first published 1957
The Greengage Summer first published 1958

I had to concentrate on library books due back and had this on hold for a bit, but back to it now. Cynthia is a terrible parent, one child over-indulged, the other neglected. She has just got back from Paris, and I did feel for Thalia. Ghastly woman.

I loved The Greengage Summer, haven't yet read Bonjour tristesse, though I do own it. Must get to it soon.

I hope everyone who wanted to join this read managed to pick up a copy while it was free on Amazon (not showing as free for me any longer.)
This is the NON spoilers thread so please use spoiler tags if you want to post anything spoilerish in this thread.
Will this be everyone's first read? & do we all have the same cover. I would think the original publication would be both hard to find & quite valuable.
