Derrick | 1 comments I have a general question about most LitRPG's. Why have authors decided to make using an Inspection skill on someone else rude? It is one of the most common skills that a vast majority of all characters have, but they can't use it without breaking etiquette.

I have never understood the inclusion of this mechanic, and looking for some feedback on possible why's. The only thing I can think of is if someone wants to hide their level, but then there's a skill for that. If you didn't want someone to see your level with a very common, very basic skill then just buy the skill to prevent that.

I am also interested in the history of that decision, where that rule really started for it to become so commonplace. Can anyone provide early examples of this in other books? I'm wondering if it was started by a popular author, and because of their popularity, other authors started to use it as well. It may also provide me with some much-needed context within the actual work.

Thank you everyone in advance!
