This is a delightful follow up to Don’t Forget to Write. A couple of characters from the earlier book actually make a cameo appearance. It's 1962 and Beverly is the perfect political wife. Daughter of a congressman and wife of a campaign manager,, she knows how elections are won. When she catches her husband with his secretary and throws him out of the house, she needs to support herself and her 2 small children. She ends up managing the rival campaign. Her assets include the support of her mother and her best friend.
For us older folks, there's some nostalgia in the era of Jack and Jackie Kennedy, and for an era when a sex scandal could end a campaign. There's a lot of humor and some romance, which I don't think was necessary. It was very well done on audio.
