Jane (PS) | 24557 comments 1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a 'nice to know' when categories are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.

2. Linguist (Captain) - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)

3. Name your team. Using this round's theme, come up with a fun name. Given we are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)

Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by 6 November

4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2. (It will also help with one of the categories in this round!)

5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including links to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!

* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full in that post.

You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.

I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.

Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.

6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation, etc.

7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.

8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.

9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)

10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A | Announcements thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.

The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week Option 2 has altered and I will be allocating each team another team from which their book selection must be chosen :)

For selection post Option 3 you must have:
Week #

For the completion post you must have:
Week #
Bookcover/link
Rating (1-5)

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.

If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.

IF YOU NEED TO CORRECT A POST FOR MISSING INFORMATION or because the didn't qualify etc, please REPOST this information in a NEW post, particularly when the request is more than a day old. Its difficult to find older posts when going backwards in the threads.

Julie | 984 comments Hi all. I'm excited to start another round of PTP with you all.

I live on the sunny east coast of Australia with my husband, 3 teens, the laziest Red Heeler & a fluff ball kitty fighting over who will be my shadow.

I read every day to keep me same in a house full of gamers. I love romance books - fantasy, sci-fi, mystery/suspense and all sorts of contemporary are my favourites genres.

I'm on Australian EST, which is 16 hours ahead of US EDT, so I might not respond to any question straight away. 😊

Here are a few team name options with our homophone reading challenge in mind -
Hiding Amongst The Reads
Between The Sheets
The Meat Cutes
Splendid Tails

Happy to go with other suggestions too!

Sally906 | 958 comments Hi another Aussie here I’m in Queensland up in the ranges about 2hrs west of Brisbane.

Retired, married, grown up children and 3 grandchildren. I thought I’d have more time to read when I retired but so busy doing lots of activities that I have to fit most of my reading in at night.

I am an eclectic reader - love romances and cosy mysteries - fantasy plots preferred; also historical (especially mail order bride stories)

Not reading any “meaty” books at present. To much going on in the real world to want it in my reading as well.

I like between the sheets as a team name 😀

Sally906 | 958 comments Christy we are already friends - I’ve sent friend requests to everyone else 😀

Kat (bookworm2017) | 1029 comments Hi everyone. Looking forward to this challenge. Pleased to meet you all. This challenge helps me carry on or finish series. This time it will be carrying on with series and reading my library books. I borrow them and they sometimes get ignored lol.

I’m from Glasgow in Scotland. I’m a sales assistant for a heart charity shop. I live with my fiancé and two cats Bonnie and Clyde. Their brother and sister.

Reading wise I like contemporary and new adult romance. Thrillers and crime and the odd non fiction.

Between the sheets is my favourite team name. .

message 11: by Christy (new)

Christy (christy_t) | 610 comments Hi all! I'm Christy and I live in Georgetown, TX (outside of Austin), with my 2 small dogs. I work remotely as an e-commerce manager.

In terms of reading, I mainly read romance, with an occasional branch out to historical fiction or mystery.

I'm good w/ Between the Sheets as a tem name as well.

message 12: by Heather (last edited Nov 02, 2025 05:40AM) (new)

Heather | 2165 comments Hi team!

I'm Heather, from rural Michigan, so I'm in the Eastern (US) time zone.

I'm retired... sort of. I have an Etsy shop where I make accessories for knitters and crocheters. It's generally pretty busy at this time of year, but with the economy so iffy, I'm not sure what to expect.

I live with (and care for) my invalid husband, who is bed-bound and declining. I'm doing my best to keep him happy and well cared for. And we have two dogs, Simon & Pippa, whom I adore. My son and DiL live about an hour away.

I read a lot and about 99% is audiobooks. They allow me to read while I work on the shop, knit and spin, and do chores. I have 6 library cards so most of what I read is borrowed from Libby and hoopla, although I do maintain a KU membership because there are a lot of books that are only available there. I'll read almost anything but mostly mysteries/thrillers, romance, and women's fiction. And lots of re-reads right now because my brain needs comfort reads!

Oh, and "Between the Sheets" sounds good to me too!

for reading, i'm also an audio reader and love all things romance...i've been on a contemporary and suspense/thriller kick this year...although i'm happy to add another genre in when it works for a challenge!

i'm horrible with names, but love Between the Sheets also!

I have to have a list each month of books to read (and a seperate GR shelf) so that I don't forget a RRRC task/ monthly challenge. Hopefully I will find something suitable that I already planned to read. It's always a win too when I find a book which qualifies for PTP and a TART task.

I'm highly technical and have a Post-it Note to track what I need for the now 4 challenges (TART, The Gratitude Game, Flavorful Foodie Flippin' Fun Exchange, & PTP) I'm participating in, on top of the Meet & Greet, lol

Because of this, I wait for the call, search the MNG list, and see what works from there. It's an adventure every week.

Same. That's why I need the Post-It Note that I put on my work computer screen with the due dates for each. Otherwise, I get really confused. that said, I avoid the office on the weekends, so...

The Knight and the Moth
Date completed: 14 November
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review:
“It's hard to see who I am when I am lost in what's expected of me.”
A gothic romantasy, where Six realises everything she knew is a lie as an Omen Diviner for the faithful. Only by joining the boy king and his knights can she find revenge for her fellow Diviners and rid the kingdom of their false gods. The characters are equally funny and insightful. I'm not sure where the series will go next, but I will be checking out more books by Rachel Gillig until #2 comes out next year.

Review: This was a very charming Christmas book, with a fake dating start. The couple had immediate chemistry from the moment they met while Callum was naked in the living area of the apartment she was meant to sublet from him. Their journey to the highlands of Scotland to spend the week with his high-maintenance family was amazing. And when her very quirky best friends showed up, hijinks ensued.

These words are the ONLY tags that will work. They may appear in combination with another word but it must complement that word, not contradict the meaning or combine with another profession.

eg 'agent police' does work; 'police military' does not work.
