This was delightful, even though some of the original cast isn't on there. The Princess Bride was the first movie our family went to that we all could enjoy. My kids might have been 8 and 11 or something like that, I was tired of only taking them to Disney movies and such.
I liked this book as well; I listened to it when we were playing Poll Book Tally. However, I've forgotten some of those little details now because it's already been five years since we played that!
The Princess Bride book is great. The movie is great. The book about making the movie is great. INCONCEIVABLE!!

The audiobook is an absolute treat — hearing so many of the original cast and crew (Rob Reiner, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane, Robin Wright, Wallace Shawn, and more!) voice their own memories added a whole additional layer of magic. I laugh-cried through all the tales about André the Giant — what a gentle legend — and I genuinely wanted to give Wallace Shawn a hug and tell him he was the perfect Vizzini. No one else could’ve done it like him.
Now I’m counting the minutes until my next rewatch, just so I can spot all the little details I learned about. I’m so glad that I didn’t have to “get used to disappointment” for this memoir.
