A book about a pop star

Ugh. I don't really listen to pop music and don't follow it or any of the "stars" in it. I can only imagine there are books published about Beyonce or Taylor Swift...?

I'm trusting the Listopia for this one! 🙂

Listopia: A book about a pop star

Dubhease | 699 comments It can also be a fictitious pop star. In the Heather Wells books, she was a pop star in her teens. Now she solves mysteries at her university.

I do think it's odd that they gave us pop star, but also real song, album, band or artist.

Jen W. (piratenami) | 538 comments In case you had anything leftover from the K-pop prompt a year or two ago, I guess... :)

I'm also adding a few manga series that would count if you want quick & easy:
Tamon's B-Side, Vol. 1
Girl Crush, Vol. 1
Oshi No Ko , Vol. 1

I have read a bunch of novels with characters who are pop stars, and I kind of love it. I have to go walk my dogs now but I'll be adding titles to the listopia when I have time.

ETA:

books I've read:
XOXO
ASAP
Somewhere Only We Know
Same Time Next Summer
Husbands & Lovers
A Visit from the Goon Squad
The Album of Dr. Moreau
Love Is a War Song
The Yakuza's Bias, Volume 1

books I have on my list:
Sing
Idol
The Final Revival of Opal & Nev
When in Rome
Stars and Smoke
The Happy Ever After Playlist
Romantic Comedy
For the Record
The Comeback
Superfan

And there's always Daisy Jones & The Six.

OMG I had forgotten The Album of Dr. Moreau! It was so fun

Ron | 2746 comments Cher's book is finally being released in paperback this week, so this was an easy pick for me.

Cher: Part One: The Memoir

Cher Part One The Memoir (The Cher Memoir, 1) by Cher

Joanna G (joanna_g) | 377 comments The Comeback is a cute romance with a pop star character.

Denise | 395 comments I'm probably going with nonfiction here, and stretching it. "Pop" is originally short for "popular" which is the definition I'm using. I'm reading The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music Dave Grohl. While not generally considered "pop" Foo Fighters are certainly "popular"

Bluebelle-the-Inquisitive (Catherine) (bluebelle-the-inquisitive) | 83 comments The obvious place to look for this is biographies and memoirs
The Woman in Me by Britney Spears is her side of the story we've all heard.
Dolly Parton has multiple books telling her story at different times in her career and in different ways. Though I have only read Dolly Parton Songteller: My Life in Lyrics
The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music pop is short for popular specific genre be damned.

In the fiction space.
I Was Born for This by Alice Oseman is one of the best books I've ever read when it comes to showing fandom as it is.
J.R. Gray's Pretty Broken series follows bandmates. It's queer, the last two in particular hit hard.
The Phantom of the Opera if you want a classic. Opera singers were the pop stars of their time, at least to a degree.

Eglė | 30 comments If you're after something a little different, I was engrossed by Tina Turner's Happiness Becomes You: A Guide to Changing Your Life for Good which is like a spiritual guide and memoir rolled into one.
