Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8508 comments Speaking of libraries, though ....

My local library has started a "little free food pantry" in the entry. Nonperishable goods are collected and left out for the taking. If you need something, feel free to take it. If you can donate something, please do so.

I'm going to make a quick run to the grocery on the way to the library today, so I have a couple of canned goods to donate.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 12815 comments Thanks for the article, Nancy, very interesting.

My library does not use B&T, but like the article noted, I am sure that a lot of Michigan libraries do. This will definitely affect our inter-library system.

Why does it not surprise me that Amazon lurks in the shadows of this sh-- show.

Robin P | 6007 comments Thanks for posting this, I saw something about it also but I think it was also a subscriber thing so I couldn't link it here. I get several book related emails daily. At the same time, library budgets are often squeezed and will become more so.

Karin | 9333 comments I have no idea which distributor(s) mine uses, but I'm sure the new director, et al, will figure this out quickly. Our latest director might not be a people person, but she's quick with things like this if she's the one who has to change it, which I doubt.
