i’ve not really been the biggest fan of fantasy books in the past but i’m seeing so much hype around them that makes me really want to try one out. i need one that isn’t too full on fantasy tho - any recommendations???

you can start with the basics:caraval + once up a broken heart
belladonna
the prison healer
divine rivals
these are not too hard to understand and quite enjoyable. hopefully you love them and read more!! xx
I would start with Divergent! It is such a good book with some romance too (but it is still a subplot). I've only read the first book and half the second book, but my friend said the rest of the series after book 2 is not (as) good, so if you read it i recommend only reading the first 2My next recommendations are Shatter Me and Percy Jackson. Percy Jackson is a book that every teenager should read. Shatter Me is one of my favorite series, it's simple and exciting, and i read the whole series in like, under 2 weeks (its a long series specifically 6 books + 5 novellas)
Other series could be Powerless, Fourth Wings, Hunger Games (if you haven't read the Hunger Games, read it RN!!), or Acotar
You should read A court of roses and thrones (ACOTAR) is like romance and fantasy an AMAZING book u will love it
STOP SCROLLING 🎃If you love witches, slow-burn romance, fall vibes, and a good mystery…
Then you need to read these 👇🏻
🧙🏻♀️Journey of a Little Witch-https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FNX7D1RH
🎃 Beneath the Jack O’ Lantern-https://a.co/d/ipItgCa
Perfect for tonight. Perfect for autumn.
Go cozy up with a story 🧡🍂
There are many subgenres of fantasy, and fantasy books can be very different from each other.First, decide what you want to read.
If you want to read a classic, start with The Lord of the Rings or A Wizard of Earthsea.
If you like complex fictional worlds and multiple points of view, The Wheel of Time series is for you. If you like reading about political intrigue and battles and can tolerate graphic scenes and violence, then you may enjoy A Song of Ice and Fire. However, if such scenes repulse you, then the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn books are more suitable.
But if you like fantasy books with female protagonists and an obvious romantic subplot, then you really should read Fourth Wing or ACOTAR, as it has already been recommended by people here.
Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George, Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim, Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucier, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, Wings by Aprilynne Pike, Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh, The Sunbearer Trials by Aiden Thomas, Flowerheart by Catherine Bakewell, and Blood Moon by Britney S. Lewis. Those are all YA fantasy. Some of them have more romance than others, but they're all very easy to follow fantasies that are so immersive and fun to read! I highly recommend checking them out and seeing if they're for you! I've got dragons, witches, pirates, fairies, werewolves, vampires, etc. I hope you'll give each of them a chance and figure out which type of magical stories you're interested in!
