i’ve been thinking about starting the series, but it’s SO incredibly long and idk if i want to commit. i feel like i’ve heard more negative reviews than positive ones but for some reason it keeps calling my name??? is it worth it?

I started it last month and am LOVING it! It’s worth it to me but I have some friends who started and did not continue 💕
I also started it last mont and it is SOO good. I love the world and the characters. I think it is worth it.
I read a few chapters and just couldn't get into it :( everyone RAVES about this book. I need to try again..
ITS SOOO WORTH ITT. i was like OBSESSED with the entire series after i first read it.
idc what other ppl say, but i would definitely recommend it.
and trust, even tho the series is rlly long, it is SO SO SOO good!!!
i started it last year, but ended up dnfing around book 7 with the understanding that i’d come back and read it later. this year, i finally read the final books, and it’s DEFINITELY worth it! one of my fav series 💕
It's definitely a LOT, but I think it's worth it. The world building is so in depth and the characters are extremely well written. I love it
It’s so worth it. I read it really slow too , after I think book 3 I would read half of it and take a break to read something else and go back. I recommend reading dark fae first until the end of book 4 then jumping into zodiac. You’ll know when to go back and finish dark fae , then zodiac and Darkmore penitentiary is last.
I finished book 7 not too long ago and needed a break cause that book wrecked me. It takes a couple of books to really get into it. It’s definitely not the best writing ever, but they are entertaining AF. I think it’s worth it. You’ll also emotionally suffer. Happy reading lol
The way you worded the question isn't the best in this situation because it is both of those things. It is totally and completely worth it but you are also going to suffer immensely. Those books WRECKED me for the 6ish weeks while I was reading them, then put me into a 5 month reading slump after I finished. I would do just about anything to be able to erase my memory of them and read them again for the first time. The first book is a bit... meh but its all in from there.
I guess it also depends on your tastes when it comes to writing styles. If you liked Acotar, or Fourth Wing or ToG, you might be disappointed. I started book 1 and the writing seemed as if a child wrote it, I DNF’d it immediately. Of course this is just my personal opinion 🥺
I loved the series, still reading it, but so far really good. Some of it gives me really bad second hand embarrassment do that's pretty meh. But its overall a really good series. Its writing's a little weird tho.
If you want to dip into something by the same authors to see how they write , I recommend The Harlequin Crew series.
