Mike Watson | 2 comments Does anyone track their reading on other apps besides Goodreads? Curious what you use and why.

I'm building a book tracking app and trying to figure out what actually matters to people. For me it's being able to scan books at the store and not having my data tracked everywhere.

What features would you actually want or what annoys you about Goodreads?

Shannen Green | 1 comments I use Fable! I like it more mainly because of how clean and updated it looks compaired to goodreads! here's more options for rating books, it goes more in depth and asks you questions to get you thinking about the book you just read (rating levels of spice, how it made you feel, tw's etc)

I love being able to scan my books directly instead of having to search for one only to end up not finding the version I have at hand and I love, love, love the ability of giving half or quarter stars!

For Reado specifically I really enjoy the buddyread option, as well as seeing what other people commented on specific sections of the book once you've reached, logged and moved past a certain page mark.
For Fable specifically I like the bookclub option and being able to add things like TWs!
Fable has a nice, clean looking interface and the design options for your profile are nice to have as well as the overall overview of your profile.

I'd say Fable is the app I like to use the most and would prefere out of all three.

Mike Watson | 2 comments That’s great feedback! Thank you for all the insights. It seems like writing in social are important. Are there any concerns about privacy or is the big win being able to rate your reads and find reads based on rating?

Thus far I haven't noticed any privacy concerns...
I think, for readers, it's a great plus to be able to discover and connect with people who have a similar taste in books or being able to discover something completely new! It's also interesting to see what others think about books you've either already read or still want to read, especially since tastes are so vastly different!
