It's official, Adrian McKinty is now a favourite assuming the rest of his work is up to the standard of The Cold Cold Ground

The Cold Cold Ground (2012) is fast paced, gritty, with plenty of action and some great dialogue. It reminded me a little of James Ellroy in terms of its dark, historically evocative, noir style. There is no higher praise. I can’t wait to crack on with this series.

The Cold Cold Ground lurks on my kindle - the benefit of picking up all those 99p bargains...

It's setting them in The Troubles that really elevates them for me

I'll give that other series a go, and his stand alones. Interesting that he loses the humour in the Michael Forsythe trilogy

The Twelve is an excellent novel set in the Troubles. Highly recommend that if you haven't read it.
