I would love some suggestions on our next book now that most people have made their way through Vanderbilt's story. Here's hoping we find a book that is more popular with the group as a whole!

Not sure what direction we want to head following Vanderbilt, Here are some ideas. Doesn't have to be one of these, just some thoughts.

What an excellent selection to choose from! This is definitely the kind of broad approach I was hoping for with this group. I would vote for 1861, Slavery by Another Name, or The Killing of Crazy Horse. Let's see where everyone else comes down.
It looks like Sherman's Ghost is the winner. Although, like Will, it's going to be a bit before I can get it from the library. Would there be any objections to reading one of the runners-up first while we each wait to get Sherman? If there are, please let me know.
How would the group feel about reading 1861: The Civil War Awakening by Adam Goodheart first and then follow that up with Sherman's Ghosts?
