Eden (authoredenm) | 7 comments Hi there,

I was wondering if it was possible to put this book under a new series

Bad Start Series

This book I am linking is book 1 of the series.

If you need additional information, please let me know.

Cheers,

Eden

Eden (authoredenm) | 7 comments Hi Camille,

Thank for making it into a series, would you mind adding series to the end as it’s part of the title:

Bad Start Series.

Thank you,

Eden

Scott | 10777 comments That text already indicates that it is a series so adding that would be redundant.

Camille | 2469 comments As Scott mentioned, we do not add the word 'series' to the series title.

Placing it in parentheses after the main title already indicates it is the series name.

Eden (authoredenm) | 7 comments Ohhh I see, thanks, I didn’t realize that.

Cheers,

Eden

It is allowed to include the word Series in a series title when the cover uses it or when the author has a strong preference. This is not forbidden in the Librarian Manual. Rivka has said before that some librarians consider it redundant, but it has never been an official “do not.” Goodreads also supports it in the system. When a series title contains the word Series, the series page automatically adjusts the display so it does not show “Series Series.” If it were not allowed, the system would not recognize it and display it correctly.

The same applies to words like Trilogy and Duology. If the cover says it, they are acceptable to include.

These threads are older, but I have not seen any newer guidance that goes against what is said there.

Hi there,

If that is the case, can I please have it changed to Bad Start Series instead of just Bad Start?
