Heartwood looks good to me also., It somehow made me think of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King, which I read years ago when it came out. Except in that one you spend the whole book in the missing person's head as they try to find their way out of the woods, where in this case you follow several people trying to find the missing person, as well as the MP herself.
