We are so glad you’re interested in participating in our group’s readathon challenges! We plan to host at least one team readathon per year and have some guidelines below for future readathon-ers to know what to expect.

Readathon Timeline
- Announcements about upcoming readathons are posted in the Monthly Message, Readathon Central, and in this Information thread month.
- Sign ups for Team Readathons run for two weeks, starting about 3 weeks before the start date. (No sign ups required for Individual Readathons.)
- Teams are announced one week before the start date.
- Start Time: Midnight in your time zone.
- End Time: Midnight in your time zone.
- Awards: A few days after a Team Readathon ends. (No awards for Individual Readathons.)

What happens during a readathon?
- Team Readathons: You will be evenly matched into a team of 5 or more, based on your reading pace and past readathon experience. Once the teams have been announced, you will be given a link to a team spreadsheet where you can add your planned books for the challenge. You will also have access to your team’s discussion thread where you should introduce yourself to your teammates and get excited for the upcoming readathon! This may also be a good time to choose a team name. Next, it’s time to read, read, read! Be sure to add your pages read to your team’s spreadsheet, after you finish each book. The more pages, the more points, Yay! Be sure to keep your pages updated so that your team leader always has an idea of how the team is doing overall. When the readathon ends, expect to see awards posted in the next few days to see how everyone did!

These readathons will typically last for 10 days.

- Individual Readathons: These will be more laid back than team readathons and the perfect experience for readers looking to boost their reading stats for the year! Individual readathons are typically shorter in length and have more open prompts so you have more control over your TBR for this style of readathon. Simply track your number of pages, hours, books read, etc. in the designated thread and cheer on your fellow readers as the event progresses!

These readathons will typically last for a weekend (2-4 days).

Have an idea for future readathons? Let us know!
If you have an idea or suggestion that you want to see us incorporate into future readathons, let us know in this thread or send me a message! We love using group members’ ideas for challenges and readathons are no exception. We look forward to hearing from you!

You MUST be able to receive messages in order to participate in a team readathon.
--- Goodreads has made some changes in everyone's privacy settings, so please check out this thread to make sure that one of the mods or your team leader can message you. It also helps (but is not required) for your profile to not be set to private.

Missy Lib | 20 comments I changed my messaging setup. I might be interested in the individual May event (hopefully by then my weekends are still free). May is when the cross stitch mayhem occurs in a Facebook group but I can try reading as long as I can pick the books (haven't read much YA past 2-3 years)
