(1.)Her relationship with his mother is tense. (2.)She initially thinks her mother lies about the story where she had to leave everything behind until she got more details.(3.)The mother is frequently talking about the “better daughter” and bragging about how good she is about other things like piano playing. (4.) Jing-Mei Woo is also seen as disrespectful and unknowing of Chinese culture. (5.)Due to this “disrespectfulness”, the Aunties seem to not trust her when she says “I’ll tell them everything”, talking about her mother. (6.)
