message 12: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (JourneyStar) | 56 comments My favorite books are the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, he teaches Creative Writing at BYU and he's books are to die for... uh... I hope I didn't just give anything away. anyways...

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Fablehaven, by Brandon Mull. There are five books in the series and the fifth one comes out next year. AH! They're amazing.

message 14: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (JourneyStar) | 56 comments I don't know any one who hasn't heard of Fablehaven, but yes they are awesome, even though I have a friend who hates them... He's sort of weird though.

message 15: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 57 comments Oh my goodness! I LOVE Fablehaven!!!!! I am sooo excited for the fifth book to come out! Did you know that there's a moviecoming out? It's being made by the makers of Spiderman, and X-Men! It's going to be rad!

message 16: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (JourneyStar) | 56 comments Rad?! yeah right, they're going to slaughter it, like every other book made into a movie. sigh, oh well, I'll probably see it for the same reason as I'll see the Lightning Thief, to see how bad they mess it up.... ignore me, I have very biased statements most of the time.

I'm afraid they probably will slaughter it. They'll probably skip Midsummer's Eve or something else really important and have like a meteor hit the preserve instead because it's more "modern" and "action-y"... They always do things like that in movies.

Emma | 157 comments ?????????????????

message 23: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (JourneyStar) | 56 comments Ehem... yes, the spider-man and x-men movies are great... but those are SUPER-HERO movies, not a fantasy!!!

um.......... that is some major spelling stuff.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

The hunger games would make an AMAZING movie, but really violent. but it is possibly one of the best books ever written.

The book of mormon
The book thief
The Hunger games

BEST BOOKS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you guys should totally read the book thief, but you will cry. a lot. like the kind of cry for a few hours and then again when anybody mentions the book for the next few weeks.

message 36: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 57 comments haha! Yea I'm major sensative! So I don't know if I could live through that! :D

message 37: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (JourneyStar) | 56 comments Mistborn is violent too, but awesome, the ending of the third book is really sad though, I bawled all during the last four chapters... and I never cry while reading! EVER! and Mistborn is actually adult fiction and has some inappropriate content but noting as bad as Twilight in my opinion

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

You never cry!?!?!?!?!? i cry in books when they aren't even sad!

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

I never cry while reading or watching a movie.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

depends for me.

message 41: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (JourneyStar) | 56 comments D... I really don't care, nor do I care to be as dramatic as a certain girl in a book about Vampires and Werewolves who is the worst idiot in the whole entire world for picking the Vampire! -fists and jaw clenched-

Anyways... yeah, I don't cry in books, but in movies I do, because I actually see it happening, when in books you usually can see sad things coming and you mentally prepare yourself for it. there's just not enough time for that in movies

message 42: by ~♥Alyssa♥~ (new)

~♥Alyssa♥~ (lyssie123) | 234 comments Probably B for me...Then I'd get over it. But still...

I LOVE The Book Thief!!! It's AMAZING! But I sobbed, like, five differnet times. And I still do whenever I read it.

Mistborn is a fantasy book set in a different world comparable to the 17/18 hundreds. the Lord Ruler is the supreme ruler over the Final Empire and a tyrant. The main character, Vin, joins a group of underground theifs to try and topple the government, putting the slave race, skaa, in control of the Empire. Vin ends up finding out that she has an extremely rare ability called Allomancy. She happens to have the strongest of Allomancy abilities called Mistborn. Um... I don't know how else to describe it without giving to much away.
