Around the Year in 52 Books discussion

Coming back to the group after a few years. I haven't followed the prompts for my reading for a while now, so we will see how I do. I've got a list ready, but it's likely to go through many changes and alterations through the year.

Plan Priorities:
1 - Red Rising Saga re-read in preparation for the release of Red God


2 - Introduce my kids to some of my favourites that my parents read to me as a child.



My Most Anticipated Reads:
1 - Red God - The final book of one of my favourite series.


2 - The Only Good Indians - I read The Buffalo Hunter Hunter in 2024 and it was my best read of the year. I'm excited to read another book by the same author.


3 - King Sorrow - I've read a few books by Joe Hill and have really enjoyed them. He is emerging as a writer as nuanced and talented as his father.


4 - The Devils - I've only heard great things about this book and cannot wait to get into it. It might be one of the first ones I pick up in the new year.


5 - Julie of the Wolves - This is one of my all time favourite books that I read as a kid and I am excited to read it to my own kids this year.

5. The Only Good Indians - A book you want to read because of something you read in 2025


6. King Sorrow - A book related to blood, sweat, or tears


7. Morning Star - A book with a character who appears in more than one book


8. Shōgun - A book set in Africa, Asia, or Australia


9. The Sixth Watch - A book with a number, ordinal, or iterative numeral in the title


10. To Kill a Mockingbird - An award winning book


11. The Bullet Swallower - A history or historical fiction book


12. The Pink Marine - A book with cover text that is NOT black or white\


13. Golden Son - An author's second/sophomore book


14. On a Night of a Thousand Stars - A book related to a painting by Vincent Van Gogh


15. Ship of Magic - A book you've wanted to read for a long time


16. All the Colours of the Dark - A book featuring a character with a similar occupation to one of the Clue/Cluedo characters
