Play Book Tag discussion

I saw this recently on a list of best books from European authors, or best historical fiction. It was - fine. It's one of many books about a place (coffee shop, bookstore, pub) that becomes a focus of the community. This one is more melancholy than most. It starts in 1966 in Vienna, which is still rebuilding from the war. There are no typical romances or cute animals, but there are quirky characters.

I feel like I am in an unintentional rabbit hole - I hadn't read any books set in Austria this whole year (I am tracking countries read) and I read 2 in a row, one set in 1930's, this one in 1960's. I had no awareness that's where they were set till I got into each one.
