Play Book Tag discussion

Recently, I have been reading this every year, and I always find something new. I usually picture scenes from the Alistair Sim movie, or the Muppet/Michael Caine one - both very good.

Dickens and Queen Victoria between them popularized many aspects of English Christmas. I just read that Dickens was unusual in saying Merry Christmas instead of Happy Christmas.

It's a bit annoying that the first copy that comes up on GR is from Focus on the Family, a conservative Christian organization. One intriguing thing about this story is that the religious aspects of the day are barely mentioned (Tiny Tim has one). It is largely a humanist message, about helping our fellow humans and appreciating love and friendship. The spirit of Christmas Present is definitely a pagan image.
