Thanks for the bait...as a twisted and demented pastor, it sounds like it will be a hit!! Peace to you LoriRay!!LoriRay wrote: "I loved "Boneman's Daughters"! Highly recommend! :) It's a little twisted and demented -- like I will never view Noxema skin cream in the same way, LOL -- but I honestly enjoyed the book a lot."

Dekker is giving out copies of his as yet unpublished book on Facebook. All you have to do is answer a question correctly, and he will pick some at random to give a new book to!
What I like about Dekker's books is that they make you think. Sometimes it takes me awhile to figure out where he is going with a story, but he always has a great message. If you've never read his first book Heaven's Wager, it was awesome! Highly recommended. But I generally like all his books.
I just finished Burn by Ted Dekker & Erin Healy. It was....interesting. I feel like I missed something though, so I think I'm going to have to read it again. I liked the story, the characters & it was very well written, but I just felt like I missed something, like there should have been more in the end. I also really enjoy reading his books & I agree, they make you think....but, for some reason, I just didn't get this one!!
I've read the first three books of his Circle Series, and it's pretty good. He is very imaginative and original in his story telling, and I have enjoyed that. However, I find that his Pentecostal theology shines through a lot. This drives me nuts because he tends to make Christianity look like some existential trip, and he seems to portray Jesus as having the emotional fiber of a high-school girl. After I read
Green
, I don't think I will be picking up much more of his stuff.
I read the Circle books (all except Green) and liked them. I picked up a few of his other books and had a harder time. I had heard that he tended to focus more on ... the "darkness" than on the light and on the enemy than on God. I didn't think that was true in the Circle books. It might have come closer for some of the others I read.I think he writes very well - but he creeped me out more than a little bit and I had to search hard for a redeeming message at times.
