I don't want to post the whole note since it's lengthy (if you want a copy, please let me know), but my cousin is looking for books.
She is a 9th/11th grade english teacher in D.C., and the literacy of her students is very low. The school doesn't have funds for a decent library. She is trying to help them increase by at least 2 reading levels a year.

One of her goals is "I want them to enjoy reading - for quite possibly - their first time." If you are able to help in any way, by donating books that you no longer read, find at the local used book store, she would greatly appreciate it.

If you are interested, here's a link for ideas. Some of the books on her list are, Twilight Saga, Harry Potter, Catch 22. I would like to buy all of the Study books for them myself soon!

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 67 comments I don't have many books I can donate, but I do have an old copy of Twilight and I'm sure I have a few other books. How can I donate?

You can send the books to her at school. I'm sure she will really appreciate them! Here's the address.

Sarah | 13 comments I might have a few age-appropriate books that I wouldn't mind losing (and that aren't on the verge of collapse) on the shelves . . . I'll check.

Aha! I have Heir Apparent (Vivian Vande Velde), A Great and Terrible Beauty (Libba Bray), Temple of the Dragonslayer --I didn't like this book, but that doesn't mean no one else will--(Tim Waggoner), and The Thief of Always (Clive Barker). Will those all be acceptable?

Those would be fine. She will be thrilled if you send them. Thank you for taking the time to look!
