Connie Scharre (cscharre) | 25 comments I can't say enough about this book. I was so moved, inspired, touched that words are hard to describe how good this book is. If you are a parent, teacher or anyone involved with the care of pre-teens, make this book a must read. I also believe this would make a great summer read for those schools who require kids to read books over the summer. It just might change their lives. Also, I'm looking for a copy of Betty Cornell's book. Wouldn't this make a great addition to a school library?

Jmrunninglib | 26 comments I picked up this book up in spite of the cover, which I'm so glad they changed in the paperback. It was a WONDERFUL book that I enjoyed much more than I thought I would. I have passed it on to several students and they have enjoyed it also. Though it was written when Maya was an 8th grader - it is very relevant to the high school students that I work with.
On a side note - my library club had a Skype visit with Maya and she was great! I would definitely recommend it. We just had a small group, but it would be great for the whole school.
