Sophie (sawphie) I started this series years ago, and got a little bored. Lately, I’ve been re-watching the TV show that adapted the books (don’t ask why, I don’t even find it very good), so I thought I would give it a try. Moreover it prevents me from choosing 1984, which I said I wanted to read until the end of the year, but always seem to put off. I’m reading it in French as I don’t think the writing style is particularly striking and if I get bored, I’ll be able to finish it quicker. I know it seems that I’m forcing myself to read a book I don’t want to read, but I actually enjoy the story and the setting, and I’m happy to see the characters again and see if this book is better than the last one.

Actually, I should explain why I got bored. Basically, the books all have the same construction : when it starts, everything’s fine and Kahlan and Richard are happy. Then an evil thing happens, they get separated, they spend the whole book trying to be reunited while fighting the evil thing and in the end, they find each other… And it starts again in the next book…

Since it’s been 3 years since I’ve read the last one, maybe I won’t get bored, even if the construction is the same…
