The Lost Challenges discussion

For this challenge you will need to complete 5 reading tasks to become a rock star!

Tasks do not need to be done in order unless you choose to do so.

There is no time limit for this challenge - just see how long it takes you to make it big!!

Books may be used up to 5 times for this challenge but only once per task.

EX: Down the Darkest Road - Tami Hoag

Can be used for spelling DRUMS or GUITAR in task one
Can also be used as part of either your band or album name in task two
Can also be used as part of a song for task three
Can also be used for California in task four
Can also be used to spell out HIT in task five.

Can NOT be used to spell out both DRUMS and GUITAR.

RULES

*To count a book towards a challenge you must read the majority of it after the start date of the challenge.
*For each book that you read please post a link to the book, the author and the date you finished it.
* Where more than one option is given for a task, please state which option your book relates to.
*Please explain briefly how your book fits a task.
*All genres and formats are fine.
*Re-reads are allowed.
*No page minimum.
*Please update your original post as you go but also post an occasional message to let us know how you're getting on, if you would like to.

*When you have finished please re-post your whole challenge as a new message or you will not be considered to have completed the challenge and we will not be able to award your Hall of Fame badge

Task One: Put Your Band Together

Spell out the following: VOCALS, GUITAR, BASS, DRUMS

These are the minimum requirements for your band - feel free to add more instruments if you want. You can use Author's First or Last Name or Title for the spell out.

EX:
B - Bad Friends (Title)
A - Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (Author Surname)
S - Affinity - Sarah Waters (Author First Name)
S - Stolen Fury (Title)

Task Two - Choose a name

For this task you will make up a name for your band and a name for your debut album using words from your book titles. Be as creative or silly as you like - it's YOUR band!
Minimum of two words per name. One word per book.

EX: Band name = Deadly Hamster
Deadly Decisions (DEADLY)
Nostradamus Ate My Hamster (HAMSTER)


EX: Album name = Kiss of the Vampire
Kiss the Girls (KISS)
Of Mice and Men (OF)
The Gift (THE)
Interview with the Vampire (VAMPIRE)

Task 3 - Choose your songs

Now you need to choose which songs will appear on your album using the titles of your books. (For this task you can disregard words such as a, the, on, of etc). Choose a minimum of ten tracks - more if you want to. Be sure to list which song/artist you are 'covering'.

Wuthering Heights = Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush

or

EX:
The Living (LIVING)
A Prayer for Owen Meany (PRAYER)
= Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi

Task Four - Go on Tour

UK Tour - Read 5 books set in different UK cities or towns
USA Tour - Read 5 books set in different USA states
World Tour - Read 5 books set in different countries (not including UK or USA)

One location per book. The location should be the primary setting for that book but it's up to you how strict you are. As long as some of the book is set there it will work.

Hi Jade, just so you know, your band name doesn't have to be a real band - you can make up anything you want. If you want to use Maroon 5 and have a book with Maroon in the title that's fine as well. I just wasn't sure if I'd explained it right - first time posting a challenge :)

I just needed to say.... this may be my favorite challenge I've done. And I've done a lot! Its different than most and so creative. Im loving it!!

To make it harder for myself, I'm trying not to use a book more than once. So it msy take me awhile to finish. :)
