I added one quote successfully from another book, then followed the same steps for this one. I got a red error box.

Added the text for the quote.
Author name in the proper box.
Selected the book from the pull-down menu (which indicates a connection to the author).
Clicked "save."

Should I be doing something different?

"1 error prohibited this quote from being saved.
Please try again later."

And did you try again later?

Try refreshing the whole page before trying it again, if you haven't already.

I tried later as instructed (who wouldn't?) and got the same result. But "later" is a vague measure of time.

I just refreshed and tried again and it worked. Perhaps I crossed the threshold for the proper quantity of "later" or the refresh cleared whatever the problem was.

I believe there is a limit to how many quotes you can add at a time.

Same happened to me and I'm still figuring out how much time "later" do I need no wait. I only added one quote before and it worked. This was going to be my second quote added.
