thanks.
Hi there, I was hoping to get Philippa Gregory's The White Queen for this task, but my local used book store only has The Constant Princess. It is about Katherine of Aragon but it seems to focus more on how she became queen than about her years as queen. Would this book be all right or does it have to be a king or queen?

Will The Oxford Book of Royal Anecdotes by Elizabeth Longford do for this task?It covers all the kings and queens of England from AD 61 to AD 1989 (Boudicca to Elizabeth II).

Melissa wrote: "hello, would The Tempest work? "The royal person in this doesn't appear to be real so no.
Diane wrote: "Would a book about Evita Peron work. i.e. Evita The Real Life of Eva Peron?"No because she was married to a president not a monarch.
Sarah wrote: "So I have a question... would a book work that had princess, prince, etc. in the title?"not necessarily
Rachel Lee wrote: "Is Cleopatra or Nefertiti considered a Monarch?"
yes
Sarah - I imagine it depends. For example, The Princess Diaries wouldn't work b/c she is a fictional monarch.
Valorie wrote: "Would The Diamond Secret A Retelling of "Anastasia" by Suzanne Weyn work for this??"I'll take it.
Sarah wrote: "I am having the hardest time finding a book that I would actually like reading for this challenge."I had a hard time also Sarah. I ended up reading a young adult book about Anastasia that I liked. Fairytale-ish but a quick easy read.
by Suzanne Weyn
Would The Viceroy of Ouidah work? It's a true story about the interaction between a slave trader and the king of the African nation of Dahomey (now Benin) during the 1800s.
Sarah - what type of novels do you enjoy reading? If you like Egyptian history, Nefertiti I heard is really good.
I enjoy reading a lot of things the only genre's I really don't care for are some history and sci-fi.
How about this one:The Sisters Who Would Be Queen The Tragedy of Katherine, Mary and Lady Jane Grey by Leanda de Lisle
According to the will of King Henry the VIII, Mary and Elizabeth were illegitimate and thus unable to become Queen; King Henry wanted the Grey sisters and their sons to be the heirs to his son Edward (King Edward VI). Edward also wanted and this and included them in his will as his successors. This is the story of why this didn't happen.
King Henry VIII, King Edward VI, Queen Elizabeth, and the Grey sisters (including King Edward VI's wife, Lady Jane Grey) -- royal enough?
Jaime wrote: "I'm planning on reading Queen Victoria Demon Hunter for this challenge, is it appropriate?"yes
