The Ninth Daughter An Abigail Adams Mystery by Barbara Hamilton is listed as the first in a projected series of mysteries, but as it was just published this fall, will it count as a series?

Ladies of Liberty The Women Who Shaped Our Nation by Cokie Roberts would work for the biography/autobiography portion of this task won't it? I know it's non-fiction, but it's about more than one woman.

Thanks, I had thought I might have to use it for the Betsy Ross Red/White/Blue thing, but that should be easy to fill in. If anyone else is interested, it looks like it would fill Jan's Multitasking, and possibly the cozy mystery one.

I found this great link for books in a series. Of course, there will still be some sleuthing involved for female authors featuring a female protagonist, but thought it was a great find to share.

Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon mysteries set in national parks are good.

Can I use a Miss Marple book from Agatha Christie?

Would A Circle of Quiet by Madeleine L'Engle work for the second part of the task? It's not exactly an autobiography, but it is Madeleine L'Engle's journal with reflections on her life and experiences.

This came up in the questions for my task. If the series changes characters in each book, but the main characters are usually female, would they work here? Or are those books disqualified for this task (and thus qualified for my own)?

Ex: Noel Streatfeild's "shoe" books. They are individual stories in almost all cases ... except that they all have titles using "shoes." The MCs are almost always girls, but they almost never show up in more than one book.

From what I can tell they are not an actual series per say so they wouldn't fit this task it that case they would count on this point for yours.

Would an autobiography written about an artist, by their child, be appropriate for part 2? If I admired the artist that was being written about? I am a huge admirer of Anne Sexton's poetry and I understand that her daughter wrote a book about her life with her mother.

Would Animal, Vegetable, Miracle A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver work for the second part of the task. I am pretty sure it is a memoir rather than an autobiography, but as I looked through it she does talk about her life and what got her to that year, although it may be too much in the non-fiction range. If someone has read it, would it fit this task?

There is a great mystery series by Dana Stabenow featuring a female detective - they're all set in Alaska and to me are a lot like Nevada Barr's writing. Lots of nature and adventure - a few years ago I got obsessed and read almost all of them.

I'm not sure which book I will read for this task Sarah, but I have two that I'm thinking about. I'm not sure if you would be interested in either of those.

Hungry is about a plus size supermodel and her struggle to be herself and still make it in the modeling industry. She is flipping gorgeous by the way. The other one is The Glass Castle. A coworker read this some time ago and raved about it.
