Whitney The book "Warriors Don't Cry" is an autobuography about Melba Patillo Beals' life. When she was young, she had to deal with segregation and racism. She was wondering, for example, she couldn't ride the ferris wheel, because she was a certain color. She had to understand that in an early age. Yes, there are some racist people in the world and segregation going on, however people don't notice it.

Noah Shukor Nikki wrote: "First autobiography I ever truly enjoyed." Hey this is also my first autobiography book that I have read and I must say that I was inspired by her courageous personality amidst the odds that she overcame with patience and virtue. She had been brought down so many times, yet she get's back up after being slapped, kicked, punched, humiliated, and spat on. She could have chosen to change back to her old school but she didn't which shows the amount of determination she had to prove her plead for coloured people to be equally treated. To me she is a warrior because she fought for what she believed in and her rights. People like her are not found anywhere, they are a special type of people who are willing to sacrifice their life, freedom and family for the good of other people. This is why I liked the book as teaches me never to back down no matter the pain or suffering.

Rhonda I just read this book last year and it is awesome and heart wrenching.

After I read the book, I just had to "google" and find out what happened to the "Little Rock 9" after the book was written.
