ok kerry wanted me to start a discussion so here it goes!! who is creepier, jeff or james????

message 2: by Kerry (new)

Kerry | 4 comments I'm not quite sure that creepy is the right word. The first time we met Jeff - back in the day - when he was staring at me from across the bar, that was pretty creepy. When you take into account what I now know about each of them I'd say they're pretty harmless and occasionally entertaining. But then again, I'm easily amused.

Now the gf really needs to buy a brush. It's safe to say, we all know where she gets her money to buy those drafts!

My one concern - who's watching the baby?

Lauren | 1 comments I've grown very fond of them!! Hahaha, but I would say James' social skills are a bit more off.

Jeff gave me 3 Pink Floyd cassette tapes tonight that he thought i'd like. I think I smell a Landing Love Bug! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

And for the record-Christine and James broke up and James is apparently heartbroken and 'lost'

i don't know jeff or james
nor james' big haired ex?
because i've never been in the landing pub but it sounded like the type of bar one might find in my ex big haired state of maine
so...
the creepiest ever was the all over spider tatoo guy that used to come into the ice cream shop where i worked when i was 15 and order one scoop of vanilla ice cream in a dish and stay for a reeeally long time
stupid me, i used to walk home along the railroad track and up this bluff on a long stairway up to a overlook park with a creepy old cementary at one end
what the hell was i thinking?
i guess i was his practice stalking

Kerry | 4 comments Cassette tapes? Jeez, do you even have a cassette player?? Does anyone these days?? Ha ha

Wow - they broke up again. It seems to be on again/off again. So can we expect to see her with Jeff tonight?? Ha ha

Kerry | 4 comments Hi Maureen,

You referred to your "ex-big haired state of Maine". Where do you live now? I noticed that you posted your most recent comment around 1:15AM. Were you out at a bar...maybe the Landing Pub? It's also kinda funny that you've become a member of goodreads very recently...a few days ago (which also happens to be a few days after we started this group).

Coincidence? Do we know you? Is Maureen an alias? Enquiring minds want to know.

no i am on the west coast

as a friend says out here
it's a cereal bowl-full of flakes and nuts
i'm a little of both i think, i was just up late and looking at the active groups and you guys showed up
i love the northeast and weymouth is sort of close to portland, me where i used to live and you guys sounded funny so...
no alias, no where near the landing pub but i'll come in if and when i get that way except i don't drink anymore...
but that's probably a good thing :)

Kerry | 4 comments Ha ha

We thought you were some one from the pub that overhead our discussion about the group and that you were messing with us. My bad. And since you live on the west coast - the time difference would explain why I thought you were writing after last call. Ha ha.

It's all good.

i could pretend to be a regular
let's see...
divorced and lonely but not going to tell you i'm lonely
just order a glass of rose
and sip it while i scan the room for a loser i haven't dated yet
twirling the glass around on the coaster, legs crossed and a little to the right so i'm shifted slightly so i can see most of the room
i'm not down at the dark end of the bar but not fully in the light either
about 1/4 of the way down with my overcoat half folder over the stoolback
finishing my third glass by 9:15 and the insurance salesman is starting to look in ter esssttt iiinng
i do the hair flip thing but very subltly and sigh a little as my wine glass does one more circuit of the coaster before i take another swallow...

Joanie | 3 comments So I saw this group listed and I thought "Could that be the Landing Pub in Weymouth?" and sure enough, it is! I live in Idlewell and grew up in Braintree right on the Weymouth line so I have lived real close to the Landing my whole life but I've only been in the pub once or twice. One night we went there for a lesbian bachelorette party (long story) we had dinner at El Sarape and then did the Landing pub crawl, staring at the Grill, going to the Pub then finishing at Helen's.

The bartender at the Pub was awesome to us but there were a few people who just stared at us the whole time we were there-one guy actually had his mouth hanging open the whole time-it was a riot! (in all fairness the "bride" had a mohawk so I guess I can understand.) I actually asked the bartender if they had ever had that many women in there at one time (since there were no other women there that night and we were a group of 20+) and he said he thought maybe once when there was a women's dart league there-he was really funny. Anyway I just wanted to pop by and say hi, maybe I'll do it in person one night too!

Welcome to the landing pub joanie!! what a small world! i grew up in Idewell on hibiscus ave! That must have been some sight for the "regulars" on the night of the "lesbian bachelorette party! not a normal accurance there! Hope to see ya someone of these days! We will prob be the ones playing darts!

keep smilin :)

Joanie | 3 comments Hey Steve, we live on Seminole, one street before Hibiscus! That's really funny!

We keep talking about doing a Landing pub crawl again but since the Grill closed I guess we'd have to add Blue Pointe Bistro in or something so we'd get the full experience. I'll let you know if we plan to invade again. I don't really hang out with the mohawked bride anymore (she married my sister but they're not together anymore) so we probably wouldn't stand out as much as we did last time, but you never know!

I spent a lot of time in my childhood on Seminole Ave! Which side did you live on?

We used to do the Landing crawl all the time! but ever since the grill closed its just not the same! I went in Blue Point once and it seemed really STUFFY in there! Deff a different atmosophere than the other landing bars! We usually go to the L. P. on thursday nights!
