Cyberpunk discussion

I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Gary Ballard and I've just self-published my debut cyberpunk novel, Under the Amoral Bridge A Cyberpunk Novel. I've been publishing the series of novels serially on my blog the last two years, and this is a collection of the first novel in paperback and ebook form. Just bought Under the Amoral Bridge from Amazon. About 25% in, so far I quite like it. I'll write a full review when I'm done.

I'm 42% in now, I like it quite a bit. I think your world building is very good; I like the political edge to the atmosphere. The plot is strong. I like the way that your writing shows a bit of noir influence, it's sort of Chandler-esque cyberpunk. The only criticism I have is in the first couple chapters you tend to especially use a lot of ten dollar words that feel forced in; there are a lot of times where I feel like simpler language would have gotten the point across. Really, though, it's a minor quibble and probably just a personal thing. Really enjoying it so far.

I'm a new author. My novel Running Black is a near-future espionage thriller and sort of a 'proto-cyberpunk' piece. Feedback is welcome.
