I really enjoy playing PC games and have been doing it for years, but one of my frustrations is when there’s a game I love on a disc and I just can’t keep moving the game onto new computers, like this game:

https://www.doublegames.com/the-curse...

It works on only certain computers in my house now, and at some future point, it probably won’t work on any of them.

I’m just leery about downloading games from places like that. But that particular jewel-board game’s jewel boards are really challenging because they get increasingly complex; they change every time you play the next level, and you have to quickly figure out how you can move the jewels on the new pattern of lines. Years ago, it took me over a month to finally win the last level for the first time! Once you complete that, you can just keep playing that top level.

My favorite games are ones that require quick thinking or observing, and speedy movements. Granted, I’m not as fast as I used to be, but I still really enjoy the challenge!

I wish the computer operating systems and their incessant forced updates didn’t change as often as people change their socks. The software compatibility problem is getting ridiculous.

I play games on a regular laptop sometimes--Amazon runs deals on regular laptops quite often. It's a little harder to play on a smaller screen compared to my gaming computer with a big monitor, but it depends on the game. Certainly for playing a card game, a laptop is sufficient! You just have to make sure your laptop/PC can handle the graphics for complicated games.

PC Games tend to be simpler and shorter games, so if you're limited on your free time, they might work for you. But if you're using someone else's internet or something, like public hookups, that will limit what you can do.

Computers today tend to have quick games built into their operating systems. But not everyone finds them interesting. I don't mind simple games. The point is, just to PLAY.

I'll be doing some reading and playing that Montezuma game tonight. Lately I've only been playing once or twice each time I play, but I'm gonna go longer tonight. Maybe I'll be brave and try that supertough Mahjong game...and lose once again, haha....

I just couldn't win that extremely hard Mahjong configuration this time around (will try again another time), so I moved to doing boards that are very hard, but less hard than that other one. I've been winning those less-hard ones sometimes.

I'm too addicted to challenging tasks, and that impossible Mahjong board is the most challenging: it's individual stacks of single tiles on top of each other. Some of the stacks are super-tall, and being able to reduce down those tall stacks without running out of matches across the game board is very difficult. And in my experience with the times I've won, you have to reduce all the stacks somewhat evenly to have a shot at winning, because you need to have a lot of free tiles on the board towards the end.

That Mahjong configuration should be inside Mah Jong Quest--they have it on the iWin website and other sites, if anyone's interested.

Riley Hays I saw a game called Golf Gambit, and it looked fun. Have any of you played it?

I haven't but it looks good. I will see if it's easy to make it work on a computer or wherever you're supposed to play it. I used to love playing miniature golf IRL, and I didn't suck at it, which is always a plus lol.

Thanks for asking; I'm surprised that you asked me to be one.... What would I have to do?

Edited to add: I'm surprised because I can be too chatty, and I thought it might have irritated you. It's just always nice to have a place to go to and shoot the breeze with people sometimes--so I like when people start up something new like you did here.

How do I get functionality to do it? I've thought of opening my own group, but it would be a general one. I do think I'm on the internet more than you seem to be. I did think of asking you about my becoming a moderator one time, but, like I said, I thought you wouldn't want that. And I kept on being the only group member consistently talking here. But, yeah, I could probably add a little more content here as a moderator because I have the time to.

I should have said, yes, I'll do it. Will I see on my own how to get functionality if you switch me over to a Mod? Well, let me know what's up....

Edit: Okay! Thx for switching me over. I have an idea for a topic--will post a thread somewhere here in a little while....
