Is anyone finished with Saplings yet? I'm pretty close...

Laura (digifish_books) | 41 comments I've only made it through the first few pages so far. I am way behind this month! :(

Danielle (leaningsun) | 27 comments I plan to start this evening. I've heard that it's a good read.

We can always discuss this book later in the month! Laura and Danielle, you'll have to let me know when you're done. I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks about Lena and Alex--their characters, their parenting style, and how their children will turn out.

Danielle (leaningsun) | 27 comments I'm set to finish Saplings tonight. I am finding that I'm a little shocked by Lena and Alex' parenting style, particularly Lena. I suppose she is not quite who we expect a mother to be. And the same with Alex to, it's funny that Lena is dismayed that he is such a family man. Isn't that what we think all women want.

Laura (digifish_books) | 41 comments I found this very similar to 'Little Boy Lost'. Not a 'comfort read' but an interesting book on families and the detrimental effects of war. Lena seemed so narcissistic...and I really felt for poor Laurel when she overheard herself referred to as a 'moron'!

I feel the need for something cheery to read next and have opted for Wodehouse :)
