Book Description:
The most dangerous person isn’t the one hiding the truth. It’s the one deciding what everyone else believes.
Sarah
I came to Hammershead hoping to save my marriage.
Instead, I found a body.
Now my husband is lying to me, the police are trying to solve a murder, and somehow the only person I trust is the woman I know the least—my neighbor, Margaret.
While the police hunt a killer, I’m hunting the truth. Following my husband’s lies leads me to questions no one in Hammershead wants answered.
Margaret says everyone in this town has something to hide.
I just never imagined her secrets would become my problem.
Margaret
Sarah thinks she came to Hammershead to escape her past. I knew better the first time we spoke across the fence.
I recognized the cracks beneath her smile. I’d seen that quiet determination before—the kind that belongs to someone willing to do whatever it takes.
She needed a friend. She had no idea how much I needed one too.
Now another body has been found, the police are getting closer, and the past I’ve spent years burying is clawing its way back to the surface.
I don’t know whether befriending Sarah is my salvation or a mistake.
Either way, if I’m going to survive what’s coming, I need her help to keep my secrets buried.
