I've been playing more PC games again, old ones. I've seen that you can buy and download some good old ones from places like Steam, but I thought that $15 for each game was expensive--till my husband told me that's on the cheap side when games tend to go for around $40 or more now. Clearly, I'm out of touch lol!
But, really, when you can play them over and over again, even $40 winds up being cheap for entertainment over a long period of time.
It saddens me that some of my games just won't load on my computers anymore. At some point, I guess all my favorites won't....
I rediscovered this Eventide 3 game; it's quite complex for its kind and has lots of adventures in it, is called a Slavic fable. It's on Steam too, and I'm tempted to download the first two. I thought I had played them, but I can't find them on the discs in my house. Maybe they were on discs that I threw out because they just wouldn't load at all anymore? Those kinds of games are on the old multi-game discs I used to get from Wal Mart.
I've also got a ton of Mahjong games from those commercial discs; Mahjong games tend to still work fine over time, probably because they have simpler graphics and play styles, though some have more parts to them: last night I rediscovered Age Of Mahjong. It's a little different because you also have to buy items and build things from your Mahjong wins.
