I read Speak and Fever 1793 towards the end of 2009. I plan on reading a few of her other books this month for my blog. I love her writing!!!!

Speak and Twisted are two of my most favorite YA novels. I've also read Catalyst, which was good, but didn't have the same depth or grip that the other have. I own Fever, but haven't read it yet, and really want to read Wintergirls. I think she is an amazing writer.
It's funny because I've always said that I liked her, but then realized I hadn't read many of her books. I have a lot of them on my shelf to read though. Wintergirls was really good if you're still waiting to read it Ashley.
I just finished it a few days ago, and WOW! It was intense! I can't get over what an amazing writer she is. I have Fever, 1793 at home waiting to be read now, and I'm pretty excited about it. She's such a great author!
I re-read Speak, I think I read it around the time it came out. It really is a good book. I can see why some schools are teaching it in English classes now. I have a copy of Twisted on my bookshelf, I might have to read that one soon.

I would love to follow up on Tyler's life, and meet up with him again, but I felt that the ending of Twisted was so perfect, that a sequel might not do it justice... Sigh. LHA IS truly amazing though, so even then it would probably rock.
I feel the same way about that as you do Ashley. I felt like the ending of Twisted was satisfying enough. But if LHA has a plan, then I'm sure it'll still be awesome...she is amazing!
I know Jennifer! Even the books I've read by her that weren't absolutely amazing/magnificent/fantastic (Catalyst and Prom) were still pretty good/great and definitely worth the read. She is very much one of my favorite authors!
Agreed. I still need to find Catalyst and Prom. But I'm going to read Chains in April...I'm very excited about it. And then Forge comes out later this year...yay.
I'm waiting to read Chains until closer to the release date of the third and final? book in the series. I don't really like waiting for the books to come out in between, so I try, when possible, to start a series after they are all out, or really close to the release of the final book. I'm hoping it doesn't take her too long to write the three though, because she really is fantastic, and I can't wait to read them!
I just finished Catalyst and I felt that it did have as much depth as Speak- the protagonist just wasn't as encompassing as Melinda was in Speak. (Melinda did make a cameo in Catalyst. It was like a rock star showing up at a restaurant!) We meet Melinda after something terrible has happened to her and we watch her crumble even farther into depression. We meet Kate when everything in her life is fine. It just has a different dynamic.
I finished Twisted on audio, and it was really well done. At some point I'll have to check out Catalyst, Fever 1793, and definitely Chains.
I finally read my first novel by Laurie - Speak and I have to say it was really moving and really just a fantastic book that I think every teenage girl should read.
I just read Speak and though I can't say I enjoyed it all that much, I thought it was a well written, thought provoking book. It was so gut wrenchingly real. That poor girl. I think every girl should read this book in 6th or 7th grade....
