Heather's Meanderings
Hi Heather!I see you're including blogs; I decided to leave those out. Otherwise, your list of what counts is the same as mine.
Good luck anyway.
I might include newspaper articles in mine. Lol. Hi Heather. I procrastinate a lot too... mostly on biology, though.
Thanks for the welcome, guys! I've really slacked off on my blogging over the holidays, and my blog is my baby, so I decided to include it in my own challenge. Good luck to you!
augh. Oh I am sooooo behind. I guess I'll add blogging to mine too. And editing, because I'm doing a lot of that right now...
Hi Heather! Good luck with your writing this year.Hmm … I need to update my blog too. O_o heh heh. I haven't blogged since August. >_<
But you could say that. or talk about walking shadow or SOMETHING. Lol. I haven't updated mine much either. She read the first chap, right? Then asked for teh first 100 pages? That's good...
i guess. XD haha …mmhmm. well, first I sent her a query and she asked for the first couple chapters. and then she read those and asked for the first 100 pages. so … i take that as a good sign. :)
she also edits manuscripts that she receives, so i should get some feedback from her, even if she decides not to represent me. so i'm excited about that :D
ikr? I read all these interviews w/her and she seems really dedicated. it's awesome. :) her name is Kelly Mortimer.
She sounds like a good person too. (If she rejects you i will chnage my mind about that, but what can I say. I'm biased in your favor.)
Yeah, she does. lol. Well from what I've read about her she seems cool. I won't really be mad if she rejects me, unless she's like "THERE IS NO HOPE FOR YOU!" But at least she's giving me feedback, which is more than any other agent has done.
That's good. Does she give everyone feedback or just the good ones? It's nice of her anyway. Apparently most agents and editors get so many a day that they just don't really have time. Have you ever read The First Five Pages?

Well, she edits it if she requests it, I think. So yeah I guess it's only the good ones, or that is, the ones she's more interested in … I don't know. haha. But yeah, it is nice of her. :)

Ah, January 1st! New Year, new opportunity to strengthen my abilities. Tonight, thus far, I have managed a blog in which I did a short writing exercise I'd learned of on Jenny Crusie's blog. 763 wds.I have also done a bit of revision on a novel. (CSD) 362 wds.
Word Count so far today= 1125
Nice going. Only 364 more days to go :)(I know, I'm such a killjoy, aren't I?)
Exits, wearing evil grin...
Damn weekends off work...I'm too lazy to pull out my laptop. After a lazy weekend lounging around and reading books (9 to be exact), I am back at work and gearing up for some writing. And procrastinating, big time.
Aha! I did write. And write well.Total word count tonight is based on revisions of CSoD.
Word count=1581
Writings for the night:Lamenting blog=869 wds
CSoD revisions=753 (damn facebook)
Total words for the day= 1621 wds
Blog (short story I got the idea for while half asleep)=1387 wdsRevisions of CSoD= 1124 wds
Making total word count today= 2511 wds
I didn't write last night because I am a loser and wanted to read. Also, there was the "unmotivated" thing, but we won't talk about that.I did jot a synopsis to one of my novels yesterday afternoon that totaled 306 wds, so I guess that counts.
Blog (writing exercise)= 683 wds
A=59 wds...goddess this novel needs a shit load of work and that terrifies me
Instead of writing a blog tonight, I just posted a video from my trip to Ireland, because I had to get on Blackboard for school and get to know the whole "online learning" thing. I did do some revisions on CSoD = 1422 wds.
That puts me at approx 9308 words so far this year.
Was lazy and did not update my word count yesterday, although I did manage to write a bit. I blogged about my NOOK!!!! YAY!!!! I don't know the original word count, because it was an email first, but my blog (just posted today) is 757 wds of gushy, loviness (yeah, I made that word up). Also wrote a continuation to a short story 607 wds.
So, total word count for 1-12-10 = 1364 wds
Been off, don't usually turn on the laptop when I'm off work. Buttttt, I won SECOND PLACE for my flash fiction story (300 wds or less) in a local paper here at home! I get to attend a dinner party and read my story out loud for the crowd. First time I've ever entered a contest. I'm so stoked.
Haven't been to the party yet! It's not until Jan 27th. I'll let you know how that terrifying bit of my life plays out.Words tonight, CSoD revisions= 1557 wds
I don't feel like writing tonight. I'm a bit down on myself today, for some reason. I go thru periods of mini-depressions that make me want to lie around and ponder the little things that bother me.I did write 446 words on listography, a little "about me" list.
ooh, look at me, coming back to edit my findings. I ended up writing. The beginnings of a short story. 735 wds. The beginnings of a possible new novel, 1320 wds.
That puts me at 14,730 for the year so far. I'm averaging a little less than one thou a day. I'd like to up that a bit.
I finished the little short story I started yesterday, adding another 588 wds.I blogged 436 wds.
CSoD revisions/continuation= 1592 wds
Total for the day=2616

Daily word count goal: 500
To be reached by short stories, blogs, revisions of written novels, and beginning new projects.
