I saw it, and it sucked. So many plot holes, I was laughing maniacally with my friends through the whole thing. And the first book, (all I bothered to read) was just ok.

*LE GASP* what!? they're some of the best books i've ever read! the third through fifth books are better, though, i agree.

The writing is amateurish--something is lost, they go after it, they meet a good guy, oh wait nvm he's bad, repeat that last step seven times, succeed 'cause you're the recipient of some prophecy that makes you automatically uber. Blech. I am actually reading the second one now, though, because of lack of something to read.

UGH. THIS book series. I'm so tempted to just delete this so I never have to glare upon it again.
But you guys just keep talking about unrelated movies and we'll be fine. :P

I never read them, so I'm neutral territory. I've heard tehy're good, but I hate any sort of Greek mythology.

OY! We don't insuld TDG or Wolves Rain, you can't insult/ make harmful comments on our stuff.
I like his second percy jackson series, it seems a lot better, if a bit wandering. Called The Lost hero.

I didn't like Greek mythology, Meeps, but I love these books.Sy, both of my parents and my older cousins enjoy them. We sent the first one to my 17, 15, and 13 year old cousins across seas for Chrismas and they requested all of them. They are a really good series.
Doom, I do like the new one but I think I liked the old a little better. Though there were some fun moments...
"That's it, Thalia Grace! I will turn you into an Aardvark, so help me!"
There was one more, I'll have to go find it.

Ick. The plotting is mediocre, and the language is very young. There's nothing eloquent about it.

Yes. Yes it does. Hence, I have a hard time finding good books.
Speaking of which...has anyone read "The House of the Scorpion?" Ohmahgah. So good! No spoilers, though, I'm not done yet.

Hm. But no one here has read it.
(It's about Opium, a drug dealing strip of land, and the very powerful family who holds it. Clones are made in this world to supply those whose clone it is with transfer organs if they need them - this story follows the story (Ahahah redundant-cy) of a clone formed for the leader of this land and his attempts to live and not get his heart ripped out. It's really fascinating)

I won't. It's sad though. I'll just tell you this, to relieve you, because it was a stress of mine: Celia does not ever die. Just so you know.
