I read Roots shortly after it was published, just before the miniseries first aired (yeah, I'm that old). I thought it was good as entertainment, but as history.
I've been enjoying it so far its just a very long book. Figured it was about time I read it I recently watched the miniseries and Roots Next Generation first time I'd ever seen it from start to end. I hope to read Queen sometime this year, that tells the side of Haley's paternal family.
