Cheryl Meares Okay, I am starting this new author and only because I just loved the series from JD Ward so now I want to explore more avenues while I wait for her next book. What do you ladies think of this author and which series is better? Dark series or ghose walker series??? I think I got those right...:-)

Ann Raven I enjoy all her books. Each series is different, one is vampires, another is psychic, then you have witches and then wereleopards...Each sseries brings something unique, they each have a story different from each other. So I say read the first book from each series and see which one keeps your attention the most. For myself I really love her Dark series, Ghostwalkers series and Sea Haven (Drake Sisters) series the most. Although I do have all her books and all series.

Jeanette Saunders I loved the Dark Series

Chantelle I love the Dark Series the most but will read all things Christine Feehan

Alicia The Dark Series is amazing! But i'll tell u that i read Christine 1st so i loved her from the start. it an awesome world to get sucked in to.It's going to be hard at first, ward's writing has a more modern edge but Christine is def one of the best writers. If u love JR Ward u'll love Christine Feehan! U should read the dark series u will not put the books down. i've read the whole series right before every book has come out.

Marcie Burruss if i had to choose between the 2 series i would read the ghostwalker series first it was really funny if you like the no BS kind of guys that turn in to softies around their women...I loved all her series I have read all of them although I loved the dark series it was my least favorite of them all but still reading worthy material for sure!...now the leopard series omg and the drakes...omg!!!! that'sa all I can say and about forgetting the hubby...nah he can only benefit from your reading material....haha

Dhfan4life I never tried the Drake series by this author. I think they are starting to tempt me though a bit. I started the Dark series when I was first transitioning from YA books to more adult books in high school. And I kind of enjoyed the first ones til I hit Dark Magic I believe it was I had grown irritated with the alpha male, beating fists on chest, in control of freaking everything. And I do mean everything as there is a couple later on where the woman is pregnant by her former husband and the vamp she gets with has to save her from something or other and winds up changing the baby's blood to his and stuff that just ticked me off. And in Dark Magic and most likely just my opinion but with that couple the Prince's General/friend and the Prince's daughter, the General raped her. I mean yea I get that the author said he was so close to changing and going to the dark side. But there was force and although she(the character) accepted it and just let him do what he will. That was not cool by me. Just my opinion. I read her ghost walker series the first few books of those. And they weren't too bad although the militery stuff got to me after a bit.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* Im not a huge fan, they are too formulaic to me. However, I really dug the first book and I love Mikhail and Ravens characters. My favorite is Gregory and I enjoyed the fourth with him and Savannah too, she added a lot of intriguing stuff to that story. Second was pretty good too.

Dhfan4life I think the Ghostwalkers, at least the first 2 or 3 I read seemed a bit livlier to me than this series. And I liked the different powers and the strategy they had. But then it was a combo of the militery stuff and the lead heroine that kind of bored me a bit to drop it.

Katelyn vitale i love this series :3 i like dark meldoly better though

Alice I really like CF's Dark series, of course some are better than others. I LOVE Ghostwalkers. It's still formula but it is more a paranormal conspiracy / science gone bad theme. I've read them in print & audio read..both ways great.

Judi This is a really good series!

Noreen I really liked the Dark series when I started it but by the time I got to the tenth or eleventh book I felt like I was reading the same book over and over again just the character names changed. She uses the same exact phrases and wording for each characters emotions and feelings in each book, as if the characters have the exact "the other half of me, the light to my dark" feelings. I seriously began to think didn't I already read this? I finally had to abandon the series :(

Danielle The Book Huntress I'm more of a GhostWalker fan, but I'll read all of her books because I like her writing. This book is about twenty years old, so her writing has come a ways. I wouldn't take this as proof that her books aren't good if you don't like it. Honestly, I did like this book, but I know many didn't care for it.

Ann has a dirty mouth Christine Feehan books are great, but if you are expecting something like JR Ward you may be disapointed. These books have many more romantic elements, and are not as plot driven. Each book in this series also stands alone much more than the JR Ward books and there is not as much of an urban fantasy feel.

That being said, I am completely banannas about the Dark series, but they are all great! I prefer vampires more than were-leopards or psychics, but I think that all of the series are great.

Alex is The Romance Fox I love the Dark Series best......

marie I liked it.

Sharon I would have to say Dark Hunter's was my first series by Christine so I think that is my favorite although I loved them all.. The only series I didn't read of her's yet is the Ghostwalkers

Dhfan4life Actually Dark Hunters is Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dark is Christine's. I read the Dark books first and then found Kenyon's books personally.

I have also read the Ghostwalkers series.....i like them some more than others though...but i prefer the dark series

Yea, I won't knock any one's choice about liking the series. As I did too at first. But after Gregori and Savannah's book I was turned off. Compounded with ALL the guys being super alpha. I was just choking on al the testosterone.

Jennifer I read the first 12 Dark books, except "Dark Symphony" and that was it for me. I think I read the first 6 Ghostwalkers. Both were good series, but they did become quite formulaic. Perhaps formulaic is the wrong word. I agree with Noreen who posted that the descriptions and sometimes thoughts and words of the characters are the same from book to book. I mean, seriously, what is with the aversion to the word forever? One of my huge pet peeves with Feehan is that she never uses the word forever, she always uses "for all time." That phrase has become a cliche in her books.

That said my favorite series of Feehan's is the Drake Sisters and I am happily reading the spin-off Sea Haven novels (or Prakenskii brothers) as they come out.

Jill Hmmmm I love this ladies books. The ghostwalker series is my favourite, love those tough men. Although I really love her other ones too, leopards series is hot. Drake sisters are awesome and so is the dark series. Read them all, I am a lover of Jr ward as well, but I think I read Christine feehans first, they are just great.

Erica I think it's a pretty good series...if you like the knowledge of what will happen at the end. There are a lot of simliarities and a lot of differences within the series it just depends on you're preference. If you love the hot and steamy romance with the emotion and total fear of losing one another, and the constant disagreements with 2 people who can't agree on one thing at all yet irrevocably bound together for all time...the thought of it sounds wonderful...yet frightening in a way. They're pretty good love stories if you love to believe in the love-at-first-sight and bound together deal it's a nice escape. :-)

Robinah The first books of the Dark series were cool 1&2 but then all the characters started sounding the same. With the Drake sisters the only ones i liked were turbulent sea & Dangerous tides the rest kind of seemed the same though with different characters. It started getting old. Hopefully the Sea Haven series will be a good surprise.

Dhfan4life Are the guys all super alpha too in the Drake series, Robinah? As I'm still wavering on reading them or not. Dark series really left a bad taste in my mouth with all the sameness and testosteronefest.

Jennifer Dhfan4life wrote: "Are the guys all super alpha too in the Drake series, Robinah? As I'm still wavering on reading them or not. Dark series really left a bad taste in my mouth with all the sameness and testosteronefest."

In my opinion, no. While they are strong male characters, they are not the domineering, shut-up-and-do-what-I-tell-you types. A big difference being that the females are the ones with special gifts while the guys are, mostly, regular guys. There are a couple exceptions, but even the most domineering male I can think of in the Drake series is nothing like the guys in the Dark series.

Michielle Robinah wrote: "The first books of the Dark series were cool 1&2 but then all the characters started sounding the same. With the Drake sisters the only ones i liked were turbulent sea & Dangerous tides the rest ki..."

Sister's of the Heart series (Sea Haven) is set in the same town as the Drake sisters. The Drakes and their husbands are still involved. I just finished the second SotH book. And it seems to be running the story line of the other six of the seven Russian brothers that have special gifts. I like them so far. The first one is a sweet story. The second is a bit darker, but still a great read.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I'll have to see if my library has some copies available.

I loved the dark series but i have to be honest i have to stop reading them sometimes to really enjoy them becasue they're overwhelming if thats all you read.

Gypsi Babii I like feehans Dark Series a whole lot. but i will speak the truth and state that some of the book are a little long winded and with the same plot and setting they get a little boring. On the other hand. After maybe the 15 book . Feehan has changes up . To me it seems like she freed herself from the element and let it out. He book get really really good. Each book really make me want to go out and buy the next book right a way .

Kimberly Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors. I've read Dark Prince about four times already. Her later books has more variety in their heroines.

Fil I just got the first book and read it real fast. The series sounds good, but it looks like I should stop after a certain book. Any suggestions on how far to go?

Kimberly Filomena wrote: "I just got the first book and read it real fast. The series sounds good, but it looks like I should stop after a certain book. Any suggestions on how far to go?"

I stopped when I could predict what happens next. I went on to read something else and picked up with her books at a later date. I just got two of her books from the library today (Dark Curse and a Christine Feehan Holiday Treasury).

Alice I'm taking a break after 22 & am reading her Ghostwalker series I'm almost thru that series & I recommend it.

Dhfan4life I stopped after I read a scene that I took to be one of rape between characters. And the possessiveness was drying me nuts.

Several of her books are predictable. I really liked Dark celebration(most funny), prossession(hella sexy and hot) , for now i am currently reading dark curse. I did take a break between books and read other series. But i am trying to finish up the series up to 22 this week.

@Alice . how is the Ghostwalker series. i am taking a break from feehan after the dark series and reading Anita blake or JR ward.

@Dhfan4life. I think you are talking about Dark Challenge with Syndall..

Dhfan4life Nope was actually referring to Gabriel and Savannah's book, Dark Magic I think it was. But she had another sort of scene like that in the series? Ah man.

Gypsi Babii Oh yea,, I remember that.. their first time..

Paula Hardin The dark are my favorite and after reading this book. I was having withdrawals for more and started writing my own vampire story while I waited for her next. hahahaha.. She's turned into my mentor, my goddess of writing..

Gypsi Babii Paula wrote: "The dark are my favorite and after reading this book. I was having withdrawals for more and started writing my own vampire story while I waited for her next. hahahaha.. She's turned into my mentor,..."
Good luck Paula..

Paula Hardin thank you, I just published my first story. It's just an ebook but it's a start~~~~~

Dhfan4life E-books are very in right now Paula. So definitely a good start. :)

Paula Hardin Yes, I'm so excited. It's like my foot in the door. Self published as well. I'm so excited. Slow start but doing ok for being Green.. hahahahaha.. thanks for the support.

Dhfan4life No prob. And sometimes I think self promotion is the best way to go when you know what you're doing. As nobody can sell you better than yourself.

Michielle I love all of Feehan's books. But I do find I need to take a break after reading 2 or 3 in a row and read something different. I have read them all execpt "Dark Predator" and am waiting anxiously for it to come out in paper back.

Danielle The Book Huntress As much as I love Feehan, I agree, you can't read her books back to back. They aren't usually quick reads.

Margret Melissa (ladybug) I love the Dark Series, Leopards, and Ghost Walkers. the first book I read by Feehan was in the Dark Series about Gabriel in Dark Legend. It pulled me in and made me want to read more in the series.

Indy_Kitten 1 I started reading Dark series once I start I cannot put the book down. Love them. Can't wait to start on the other series.

Paula Hardin Ohhh there all good, it's the gift she possesses that drawls her readers in I think. I can't stop from reading her work. I'll stop whatever I'm reading to read a new book from her.. hahahaha..
