Melissa (hismercysurrounding) What are your favorite of John Piper's books? I know, I know. All, right? But if you had to pick one, which would it be?
I've just started reading "When I Don't Desire God," and my family has been reading "Desiring God" for devotions for a while--they're both excellent. I haven't read any of his other books yet, though.

Anita Desiring God was an amazing book. Really refocused my thinking about God. I read it about the time I was beginning to learn reformed theology and it just drew me to God in a new way.

Elizabeth (bessfedor) | 1 comments "Don't Waste Your Life" was an excellent read - I read it in a Bible study I was attending last year, and I bought myself a copy right after the course was over. It really hit me, I was at a point in my life where...well, life was taking over and I was losing focus on what really counted. It was kind of like a slap-in-the-face wake up call that got me back on track.

Charles | 1 comments Hands down, Desiring God is my favorite Piper book. I tell people that if they want to understand what Piper is all about, read that one. It's basically the soil from which the rest of his books have grown. I will say his newest books, A Peculiar Glory and Reading the Bible Supernaturally are other must-reads. Both are also fantastic!
