Comfort Reads discussion

A warm welcome to all new members. I hope you find this a friendly forum to discover, share and discuss the books you turn to when you're feeling stressed, need a change of pace or just can't concentrate on more serious reading. Sometimes these are guilty pleasures but why should we feel guilty? I say let's celebrate and share our comfort reads!

Feel free to suggest books in the threads and folders provided below. Genres are organized in alphabetical order, if something is missing please let me know.

If you are a GoodReads author member joining us and would like to promote your own book(s), we ask that you first take a little time to get to know us, share your own favorite comfort reads, and become an active group member.

Also, when telling us about your own book(s) please use the designated folder for Goodreads authors called Author's Corner. Please tell us about your book(s) only if at least some members here would consider them "comfort reads" since that's the focus of this group.

We love Goodreads author members and we are a very welcoming bunch to all, but promoting your work if you're not a fully participating member here is considered spamming. Unfortunately, it's likely to be counterproductive. On the other hand, if you are active and post here and get to know us and allow us to get to know you as a person, we'll be thrilled to hear about any "comfort read" books you've written and it's likely a good number of members will add them to their Goodreads shelves.

Just to be clear, if you post a book promotion in the author's corner thread and do not post or participate as a reader in any other thread, your book promotions will be removed.

A few new people have posted, and I want to apologize that for some time this group has been fairly dead.

I'd mentioned possibly adding mods for members who might want to revive the group.

However, it's my strong belief that for members who want a group for comfort reads that starting a new group would be best and easiest.
