Oh, I can answer this. Microsoft Front Page. Website building software. I used it when I first stated to creat my website, but I have a very old version, 2000, so I asked my niece, who is a genius, for advice and she gave me a software program, which is very confusing to me, but with a little help from her, I managed to make a few pages link together and get my stories and pictures on there. MS Front page is okay. I just had an old one. But for someone who knows nothing about building a webpage, there are some other programs out there with drag and drop features that are easier. The think MS office professional comes with Front Page included in it.
For anyone who wants a clean, compact, quick loading website complying with W3C standards, Front Page would be the very last thing I would use. It's awful. Use Dreamweaver, or any of the free web design packages like Arachne, First Page 2000 etc.Trust me, they are all better than Front Page.
Yeah, Dreamweaver is the software I used for my site. I'm still learning. I'll have to check out those others you mentioned.
I totally agree with Paul, I found FP restrictive and, well - mince. Dreamweaver is leaning toward professional and may not be for a beginner. I passed a course on it, but still think it's overkill for someone wanting a nice neat we website. Yes, ok. It is the business.
I've been through a lot of books and software and ended up using www.Wix.com which is a basic drag and drop system and free to create (you still need to get domain and host.
I suppose this thread is going to exist then, just to let people not to go near MS FP, as the choices out there, free, are vastly more simplistic and easy to pick up and use.
