I have this huge TBR pile of books. But sometimes there really isn't a book in there that grabs me at a certain time. I'm looking to see what others think are worth the time and defiantly looking to fluff up my TBR pile.

Let us know what is on your Top 5, 10, 15 books are!!

Some of my recent favorite books...
Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate #1) by Gail Carriger YA, Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick YA, Master An Erotic Novel of the Count of Monte Cristo by Colette Gale Adult, Born of Night (League Series, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Adult, Helen of Troy by Margaret George Historical Fiction

I would also add as runner ups.
City of Bones (Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare YA, Flyboys A True Story of Courage by James Bradley Non-Fic, Four Blind Mice (Alex Cross, Book 8) by James Patterson Mystery, Black Elk Speaks Being the Life Story of a Holy Man of the Oglala Sioux by John G. Neihardt Native American, The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory Historical Fiction, Fantasy Lover (Dark-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Adult

Ayunda (ayundabs) hmmm, I've never heard about them...
here's mine:

Harry Potter Boxset Books 1-7 by J.K. Rowling Inkheart (Inkheart, #1) by Cornelia Funke Holes by Louis Sachar [image error] A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I don't necessarily have a certain order, but these are my fave series:

The Twilight Saga (Twilight, #1-4) by Stephenie Meyer Harry Potter Boxset Books 1-7 by J.K. Rowling The Complete Wreck (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Books 1-13) by Lemony Snicket

I also LUHV the Clique series, but there are too many books to add. :)

The first two are Young Adult, 2nd two are Adult, and the last is a Historical Fiction *some Romance*. I would say it is a inbetweener in genre. If you like Trojan history this book is good because it is from Helen's point of view, not any of the men's point.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Sounds cool.

I've only read one book from the Unfortunate Events... I really wanna buy them but they're only available in Indonesian and I don't really like translated books..

Zia (zrg1) | 380 comments i haven't read any.

Pandy I've read all the Unfortunate Events books a few years ago and I thought they were okay.

My favorite books/series are:
Harry Potter
His Dark Materials
The Lord of the Rings
To Kill a Mockingbird
And Then There Were None
Great Expectations
Tess of the D'urbervilles
The Bartimaeus Trilogy
The Three Musketeers
The Shining
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin
The Thirteenth Tale

I want to read The Fellowship of the Ring this year. I also have the other two books. Should be a great read.

message 12: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Ayunda--I can understand that. It's sort of like having a friend who goes back and forth telling two people what the other one said.

Zia--You should try to at least go to the library and get them. They're really good!

Pandy--Those sound like some cool book series. Out of those, I've only read Harry Potter. I'm going to try and read a lot of the other series because they are on my TBR "pile".

message 13: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Elyssa--I haven't read any of them nor do I have them, but I'm working on that.

I like the movies. Usually the book is so much better than the movie. I also have Unfinished Tales. It has stories about MiddleEarth.

Everyone see that everyone has read Harry Potter but have you read any of the new books about James Potter??

message 15: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) No, but I'm looking into them. I want to get them as soon as possible.

message 16: by Pandy (new)

Pandy I read about forty pages of the first James Potter book, but then I stopped. I'd like to try again later - I just have to overcome my mental block about fanfiction :).

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

A lot of people have said that. However, a few Potter fans thought that this new author did a pretty good job at continuing on. Should be interesting.

message 18: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Were the first 40 pages good? LOL :D

message 19: by Pandy (new)

Pandy They weren't bad, though I wasn't immediately drawn in - it's probably just my problem, though. I've heard many people say that the stories are good.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Perhaps in time you will be able to pick it up later and enjoy the Potter's son. However, until then there are tons of good books to be read. I haven't been able to pick them up either yet.

message 21: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Same here. Then again there's the library problem.

message 22: by Zia (new)

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes I do. It's a big book.

message 28: by Zia (new)

Zia (zrg1) | 380 comments i know rite

message 29: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I love big books, but sometimes I wish I didn't because it might take me a lot longer to read them.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

That is when you have to pick up the pace. *especially if you want to out page me. Ha Ha!*. Sometimes the longer books have a more developed story. Instead of making a series the stick the whole idea into one sale.

message 31: by Zakiya (last edited Jan 12, 2010 05:50PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) That makes sense. *And you're still going DOWN!!!* :P

message 32: by Ayunda (new)

Ayunda (ayundabs) is Dragon RIder the one by Cornelia FUnke? if it is, I read it! I've always loved cornelia funke..

I officially have a new favorite book. Adult Sci-Fi Romance. Second in the League Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. [image error]

message 36: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Another series that I'm just going to have to read.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL, it might be a few years before your mom will let you read this but it is worth the wait.

message 38: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Well, I'm used to that with my mom. I have so many other series to finish that it's not hard to distract me anymore! :)
