Rebecca Mr Ford, I would like to know what its like getting back to the beginning of the writing process again after writing such a sucessful novel like Hotel On The Corner of Bitter and Sweet? Is it exciting? or does it feel like back to the grindstone?

Hi Rebecca,

Honestly, it's pure pleasure. I love to write, it doesn't feel like drudgery at all. The problem is that I've been traveling so much promoting the paperback that I've been away from my writing desk--which can be maddening at times. I love doing book events, but suddenly that deadline rears its head...

Also, I wrote half of the new book before HOTEL even came out, so some of that pressure was abated.

:)

Hey Ryan,

I've had a few offers on the film option, but still waiting for the right fit. Selling the film rights is akin to selling my baby to the circus. It's a bizarre endeavor. And even if I do sell the film option, it's a real longshot that it would ever get made--a lot of books get optioned but a slim percentage ever make it to the big screen.

But, you never know... :)

Ryan Field | 2 comments I have a prescient feeling the right offer will come along eventually. I don't know why; I just do.
