I thought it might be fun just to have a chit-chat thread.

I hope you all had a great weekend and that next week is amazingly wonderful!

A crumpet is a savoury/sweet bread snack made from flour and yeast. It is eaten mainly in the United Kingdom and other nations of the Commonwealth.

Homemade crumpets
Ingredients
450g/1lb plain flour, sifted
½ tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp/1x7g sachet fast-action dried yeast
300ml/½ pint warm milk
300ml /½ pint warm water
vegetable oil
4 crumpet rings or 7.5cm/3in plain pastry cutters, greased

Method
1. Place the flour and salt into a large bowl and stir in the sugar and yeast making a well in the centre. Pour in the warm milk and water and mix to give quite a thick batter. Beat well until completely combined and cover with a tea towel or cling film.
2. Leave in a warm place to rise for about an hour until it's a light, spongy texture. Stir well to knock out any air and pour into a large jug.
3. Heat a non-stick frying pan over a very low heat with a drop of oil. Wipe the pan with kitchen paper to remove excess oil. Sit the greased crumpet rings in the pan and leave to heat up for a couple of minutes.
4. Pour in enough mixture to fill the rings just over halfway up the sides. Leave to cook until plenty of small holes appear on the surface and the batter has just dried out. This will take about 8-10 minutes.
5. Remove the rings and turn over the crumpets to cook for a further minute or two on the other side. Sit the first batch of crumpets on a wire rack while continuing to cook the remaining mixture.

Oh, my, I love the BDB so much! It's my fav. paranormal romance series! You must try Bekah. Just remember that book one sets up the whole series and compared to the rest may seem a bit weak, but it is till a good book. I would look into the box set because the price is cheaper than buying each paperback individually if you decide you do like the series and want to read all the books. Hope this helps my dear! :)

Thanks Alycia! I definitely think the boxed set is the way to go. I will try to remember to stick through book 1! I'm actually sure that I will just to get to Zsadist(sp) He sounds too yummy to resist!

You are welcome :) His book is great, but heart wrenching Bekah. I do recommend reading them in order though so you know what is going on and you don't run into to many spoilers.

Actually, I'm a big Nicole Jordan fan. I especially loved her Paradise series and her Notorious series. The Courtship series is further down on my list for her. Try a couple of other books from the above series and see what you think.

I would get the 2008 BBC version- someone else may have a different opinion though!

Hmm, I've only been to one game- I loved it, but have never gone to another one! I don't watch any sports on tv, except the Olympics! I don't think hockey is as big here in the South as it is up North.

I'm reading a rather interesting book called Untouched at the moment. Well, when I can concentrate over the racket of my son killing zombies on his XBox.

What is untouchable about?

I hear with the whole video game thing! Mine is usally hockey tho! horns going off, and music playing on the game, drives me crazy! Its silent right now tho, he is at real hockey practice!
