Hunger Games or Harry Potter
I LOVED the Hunger Games! It was a breath taking, addictive, and eventful story filled with its interesting twists and turns....but I have to contradict....Nothing can compare to Harry Potter. I love the Harry Potter series!
I really don't know..... it's really hard to choose. I probably choose Harry Potter, but only by less than a millimeter....... 1/10000000000000000000000000 of a millimeter....
oh, but Harry Potter is so epic and awesome and creative, plus it's not JUST action. it's got real life. I don't know how you guys could possible even think to compaare. Actually, I think there measured on totally different scales. If you know what I mean
not a fan of the whole wizard fantasy thing i like book si can relate too hunger games is soooooo much better like times1000000000
For those of you who don't like Harry Potter or simply prefer Hunger Games, why do you feel that way (if you haven't given a reason)?
I love the Hunger Games lots better. I still love Harry Potter, but he just doesn't measure up. Maybe it's the realistic aspect (+ multiple other things, obviously) that make the Hunger Games so much better. :)

Like, in Harry Potter (this isn't really a -) I hate Harry! I feel like I can enjoy the book if I'm agreeing with the characters choices instead of wanting to jump up and down and scream at Harry. But I really don't know why, but Harry Potter just kind of wins.
I say Hunger Games is better, by a wee few inches... I agree with Tiffany Harry isn't really the best character.

Yay!!!
That is hard. I love Harry Potter, and Harry Potter was the first Fantasy series I read, it pretty much opened the door of reading can be fun and awesome! But the Hunger Games is a suspenseful, intense, amazing series as well!
I would have to say that Harry Potter wins my is millimeter. That is IF you compare them. They are so different, I love both!
Ha ha, I'm one of the few people who feel that all things can be compared, no matter how different they are.

wow that's exactly how i feel. i completely agree with u on that :)
I love Harry Potter, but by one micro-centimeter I love the hunger games more because of the fact that it's futuristic and I love dystopian novels.
I like them both please don't make me choose, like I grew up with Harry potter literally and I think Hunger Games is also meaningful in my life because I got these political insights from the book, and it's like it's reality of the world we live in right now, the violence and the entertainment and how people are manipulated by media and government.
actually the idea of hunger games isn't THAT original (don't get me wrong, i absolutely love this series) Battle Royale is a Japanese novel written in 1999:
Forty-two delinquent students, three days, one deserted Island: welcome to Battle Royale. A group of delinquent students from a Japanese high school have been forced by legislation to compete in a new forum of reality television. The students are each given a bag with a randomly selected weapon and a few rations of food and water and sent off to kill each other in a no-holds-barred (with a few minor rules) game to the death, which means that the students have three days to kill each other until one survives--or they all die.
btw they're making another movie based on this novel and guess what? it comes out in 2011, same year the HG movie is suppose to come out!! :S
i don't have any problem with story lines that aren't completely original, cause only a few are. as long as the writing is good, there is a new twist to it or something about it that makes it stand out.
Both movies are coming out the same year?? Does anyone else think this is foreshadowing this genre becoming really popular? Like how wizard stuff was really popular... then vampires....
yeb and i think everyone's gonna start thinking HG was the first one out there, kinda like how everyone though Twilight was the first vamp love story EVER written. even though Vampire Diaries and Sookie Stackhouse were written way before :S it annoys me when people obsess over things really blindly without thinking twice about it!! at least hunger games is a good series to obsess over to some degree =D

I have yet to read Battle Royale...but I think they are sorta different.
1) I think (almost) the whole book of Battle Royale is dedicated to the arena itself and the delinquents inside it. . . (please correct me if that's wrong.)
2) Um...there's not really government conspiracy
3) No awesome flaming dresses ^.^ I loved that.
4) Way more contestants in Battle Royale..
But I see what you're saying about them being the same.

i haven't read the book, so i wouldn't know either :) i just know of the storyline
And...I read a review for Battle Royale and it said it was a scientific experiment, not television thing.
Oh I can sense the tension this is building. I don't think it really maters that they're at all the same. Like...somebody ...said, there's rarely ever a book that's totally original. it IS momstly about how good the book is.
Yep, it's not that original, for the 'battle royale' concept. And I'm talking about the definition for 'battle royale', not the book, manga, and movie.Battle Royale involves more gore, students all fifteen and such, and more things.
Still, things with that concept are luff~

As much as I love Hunger Games, I still prefer Harry Potter.
